I'm sure that the judge will be impressed with the CFC's opinion. Remember that the FRT is NOT the law, the law says they're banned. Even if they weren't meant to be, they are. Sorry unless they withdraw the entire OIC and correct it, the fact that they're listed by name in the law as it was proclaimed at the outset means they're illegal.
How do you figure that? Remember the AK looking 22LR which was non restricted, then later discovered it was identical to a named OIC prohibited "variant" of the AK. It became prohibited and was prohibited before the FRT was changed due to the OIC. In this case the Accuracy International models that are listed by name are prohibited. Also guns with 20mm and larger bores , including shotguns with removable chokes if the bore is 20mm or larger. Add in the new energy criteria which includes 50BMG along with a number of other calibres which even encompass some of the dangerous big game hunting rifles.
The OIC trumps the FRT. The FRT will be changed later to reflect this, but it may require court cases and or firearm lab opinions before it is noted and changed. Doesn't change the status of the item as the OIC comes into immediate effect.
With Wendy Cukier it goes far beyond banning all firearms. In a recent interview, she indicated that hunters and shooters should be examined because they have the skills to use firearms to kill people. I was shocked to see that someone would vilify someone else simply for the knowledge they possess. This is very dangerous territory and tells just how far this lady is willing to go to get revenge.
I don't think it works that way my friend... sadly.
AX owners are fracked till this gets re-appealed.
If I was in your place I would get in touch with a firearms lawyer and confirm before going for some crown land shooting.

The FRT is irrelevant to what is named in the OIC.
Notice how they list the AX under the 10,000 Joules section? Meaning only the calibers over 10,000 joules would be prohibited from that type....

More likely they are demonstrating that the average gun owner has poor reading comprehension.
Others have already posted that when you consult the FRT for some of these named firearms, the FRT now says that firearms chambered in ### caliber are prohibited, otherwise NR.
Show me an FRT listing that says ALL models of AI AX are prohib, regardless of caliber.
The OIC is clear in how it lists the guns. Both the RPA and the Accuracy International AX like I said are listed under the heading of 10,000 Joules. Not sure why some cant comprehend that only specific calibers of those guns are over 10,000 joules and thus those are the ones that are banned.
