Looking to get a set of rubber type boots for hunting swampy areas. So not looking for much insulation and want more mobility than waders. The type Rocky makes that tie to Your belt and hang about 10" below are a good height but for early Oct 1000 G thinsulate is way too much. I have the normal height rubbers, and their fine for low speed. Problem is that if You have to move fast at all the spray from boot 1 enters boot 2 and at days end their full or You've had Your pants over the boot to stop it and now their covered in loon ****. Used to be able to just by covers to go around the mouth of any boot, but I haven't seen them for years

Look at hip boots. They tie to your belt and come to you crotch You can get them floppy of some that are very tight around your thighs. Lots of choices for materials. Wore them day in and day out caribou guiding. Your getting into and out of boats have wade a lot etc. The only we found that was suitable.

^Thanks boys. Getting really disappointed in this totally misleading thread till the pics show up. So any with G-strings :xes

To the OP...they are either called rubber boots, hip waders or chest waders...never seen the term thigh high hunting/fishing boots before....and I've been around for a while!
