I use Center-X if I'm testing something or shooting a match, I want the best, most consistent results I can afford. The Standard Plus is for everyday range visits and short range work.
He makes a good point about matching ammunition to the rifle and even shooter capability. If my particular combination of rifle/optic/shooter performs no better with Midas+ than Center-X, then why waste the extra money unless I upgrade something else as well to get the full benefit of the better ammunition? As I get older, upgrading me seems to be the single biggest challenge!
Each step up the accuracy ladder will reveal a different weakness that wasn't apparent at the previous level. A slippery slope.
I think you've made a good solid choice with the 452 Varmint, TCG. They're a good rifle for the money, I find mine very rewarding to shoot. Being pretty never hurts either.. lol.
