Thinking of buying an FN Five Seven

Even to 9mm? 9mm is really a bothersome cartridge. Everyone seems to be using it but frankly I am troubled by its limitations as this is the fourth story in about 3 months I have read where a 9mm has been used with limited success in a critical incident. How can you trust it? 4 shots to take down the bad guy at Fort Hood and he survives? A 240lb+ man cannot be stopped with a 9mm firearm, not right away, not without a well-placed shot and good luck reliably getting that with a 5.7x28 flying at your ears. A 240lb. man shot with 9mm centre of mass will still keep coming! That officer, despite her years of training and her youth, could not find a mark that would make a difference, not right away. It took four shots just to bring him to heal and they took him away in an ambulance, not a hearse!

"Of the bullets that attain desired penetration, those of larger diameter are most effective, crushing more tissue."

$3-4 A ROUND?

Sweet Jesus that's pricey.

I think the least I've paid on the EE is $1.50 per round and the most has been about $2.00 per round. Basically $75 to $100 per box. I thought 25 rounds came in a box, but its actually 50, so my original post was twice as expensive as it actually is.

So its really $1.50 to $2.00 per round. I believe it sells in the U.S. for around $20.00 per box or U.S.$0.40 per round. If you buy 9mm in bulk, you can get it for around CDN$0.40 per round. Unless, a distributor will buy it in bulk and bring in huge quantities, you're pretty much in for a soaking!

I got my ammo for about $0.80 a round. I'm looking to find another cheaper source. Paying over a buck a round is criminal.

I've yet to pay even $1.00 a round for my ammo so far. There's decent prices out there if you look around unless you like taking it up the hoop I guess? No reliability issues with mine either and everyone that's tried it so far has enjoyed it.

I like the FN Five Seven Sold it because my range don't support the ammo at 2300FPS not good for indoor ranges. Still have 4 boxes left don't know if Im going to sell them. The PS90 look good to thxs to Questar:)
