thinking of getting a mosin nagant

One of the greatest cost per shot high hp rnds u'll find. If ur new into the game I'd suggest an svt40. I love and always loved my many Mosins and couple of sks' and a expensive vz58 but I've always stayed away from buyin an svt40 as I never saw a use for them. Buddy at work had one and talked big about it. I shot it one day. Fell in love with it as it's got an easiy infinitely adjustable front site like an sks, vz or ak with a longer site radius then any. And then to top it off it was just as accurate as a mosin shootin irons. Just shawacks steel at 200yds as fast as you can load it. The only problem with that rifle is not cranking up the gas setting high enough and the rate you go through ammo. And realistically that rifle was just under 300$, my cheap still great shootin mosin was 160$ and my m44 carbine and 1944 mosin sniper were significantly more expensive then the sweetheart svt40.

I can't emphasis enough getting a little more spendy and look at a Mosin carbine!
They can be had for between $290 and $400 and are well worth the investment.

^^^^^.+1!

Although, it seems to be VERY hard to find an M44 or M38 with a nice bore in my experience. I ended up buying a shortened sportized Mosin with a perfect bore. Shoots great and it's almost more fun to shoot than any of my Mosins because of the added kick and fireballs! :)

Beauty, my m44 has a nice slighty marked up stock finish that's too good to refinish but it's got that sane looking wood that could be popped like that. Pretty ###y though. The only thing better then seein a carbine like that is standing beside one that rocks ur hat and shoots fireballs every shot. Love my Russians but it makes u wonder what the Germans thought when Russian spetznas came at then with big beards and fireball launchin Mosin carbines

Those boots look so uncomfortable. Looks worse than rubber boots that kids wear.

add to that footwraps :D if you can't do it properly your feet will be in hell

EL34/6L6, you got it from Crowin Arms? Looks nice. Why is it better than the ever popular 91/30? Barrel is shorter? Lighter? Cheers!

Not necessarily better, but carbine version is less common than 91/30 and somewhat handier. AFAIK M44 version is not lighter than 91/30 (because of bayonet).

Yes from Corwin last summer.
The M38 is marginally lighter, but the M44 is about the same as the 91/30 because of the added bayo & lug.

Mainly, I find the carbines handier, and better balanced. I like the stout recoil they have and their almost pitbull like quality.

If collecting is an interest, access to the carbines will run out long before their "tree branch" big brother. So get one or two while there is still a relative prime selection.

I just ordered one of those numbers matching Collector Source M44's packed in heavy grease. Curiosity got the best of me.
My Corwin M44 is pristine refurb, so I wanted a worn looking more broken in Walking Dead inspired M44.

EL34/6L6, (wonder how many guys on here know those are guitar amp power tubes..)

Have never been into Mosin's until your picture. That looks great ! Personally I'd lose the bayo but other than that I dig it. Have never liked how bloody long they are but this carbine is interesting.

By Corwin Polish refurb I'm assuming you're referring to Corwin Arm's in BC ? If so I'll check them out for one of these.
Thanks for the tip.

Yes Corwin Arms. I believe they are sold out though.
I say look for a M38 as well if you don't want a bayo. They are real fun
