This .22LR shortage is starting to piss me off.

It would be a boring world if we were all into the same thing. The trick is not getting chapped at other people's choices.

I totally get that and agree 100%
But can't help at comment on people blasting away thousands of rounds per trip out and then complaining about the shortage of .22LR ammo and how they don't have enough.

That's all. I'll be quiet now :)

I shoot groups on paper.
5 rounds, walk to the target, check, assess, patch.
Go back try and get better and better with every group.
It's pretty much what I do with all my guns. More like therapy and relaxation for me personally.
Sometimes set up pop cans full of water so I can pick them up easily after I hit them.
I don't blast away with thousands of rounds each trip with any gun, never did.
I guess I'm wierd lol

I don't blast away either...

I set up twenty targets on the stands and shoot paced rounds with multiple rifles... let them cool down. I don't walk the 100 or 200 or 300 yards after every group... that is what the spotter is for... I don't drive the one hour round trip to the range or our farm to shoot 40-50 rounds...

I was not criticizing your practices, just expressing that IME it is not the norm for most shooters.

As well as they charge Ontario tax to everyone instead of just GST. American eagle works out to a little over 40 bucks a brick :/
I guess I'm still waiting for my backorder case of CCI Blazer, hopefully it shows up in the next 6 months

what price did you backorder your case of blazer at?

$28.99/brick from GR, not the cheapest around, but they let me backorder it, unlike other places (all in it works out to 7.6 cents rd) I'll still try and get some bucket o bullets or something cheaper per round locally for my family/gf blasting away.

Luckily I purchased several master cases of .22 @ $21.00 a brick tax in a couple of years ago. $210.00 a case today is a steal, back then a good deal.

That's where i got mine backordered too, how much are they charging for shipping to the island? theyre half an hr away and i picked up my minimags locally, so i haven't had to deal with any shipping charges for ammo yet...

I guess it's time to break out my case of Russian "Junior" .22 ammo. 5000 rounds in a wooden case, black casings and bullet covered in slimy lube that in most of my .22's shoots like near match ammo. Some of you may remember Milarm selling this stuff in the late '90's for what was then an OK price (can't remember). The boxes have a green label with a "chicken" drawing. Phil.

If iirc.... That stuff did shoot pretty good, on par with eley practice and 40gr lapua match, in my half dozen or so rifles.....

Only problem was 1 in 4 would get a stuck case in the chamber, so I only shot it in my pistols as it was easier to take a short cleaning rod to the range to push out stuck cases.....

This was my experience with a total of 20(ish) firearms. None of those guns had a problem with brass cased ammo....

If we're talking about the same stuff..... Now that I think about it, it was steel cased.....

Cheers!

Canadian Tire, McLeod Tr and Southland in Calgary just received a huge order of .22LR ammo. Remington 525 Bulk and Federal Solids Bulk for $47.00 Several crates of the stuff. Get um while they"re hot.

Bass pro in Vaughn has no .22.

They want $69 for 1000 cci large rifle primers .

I'm going to tell my family to stop buying me gift cards for there, I can't stand that place.
