This .22LR shortage is starting to piss me off.

...rimfire ammo... I don't want to pi$$ anyone off, but how about premium factory .308 loads? At around $1.20 per round, just what are you complaining about 5 cents a round?

Sorry.

Only had my PAL for a few years! Buy it when it's cheap and when you see it! Don't hesitate! Unless you live around me! In witch case hesitate as much as possible so I can get it first lol :)

i generally pay in the $40 to $70 range. cci sv, lower end lapua and sk+. far better accuacy and performance. to me is still cheap compaired to feeding my centre fires.

Sorry.

2700 ft lbs / 130 ft lbs = 20.77

5 cents x 20.77 = $1.03.

Looks pretty close to me, even just considering energy output. Now lets talk about materials...

5 cents / round is pretty much the new bulk pack price for .22LR, not premium stuff.

I ordered a couple bricks online, albeit ####ty ammo. Just went to wholesale sports in Calgary yesterday and they have a couple different lead bullet ones in stock.

I'll take it for now.

Seen an advertisement at Lake Huron for CCI-SV so I checked it out very quickly. They have them for $57.45 a brick or $530.00 a case.

Guess what, they are still there!

I will stick with Lapua Standard + at those prices.

Ive been stocking up since getting my pal a few years ago. No shortage here. A few months ago I picked up some winchester 333 for 14.99. I remember paying that for 555 boxes but oh well.

I have enough 22 bought at the old prices you mention to last a decade. The only rimfire ammo I have to buy is yellow-jackets for gophers. But that's so much fun I don't care about the price.:d

Retailer will continue to gouge consumers as long as the consumers keep buying the overpriced items. I know for a fact that yes the wholesalers have hiked up the price to the retailers but not any where near what the retailers have jacked it up.

I generally buy my 22lr by the cases of 5000, so I haven't shopped for 22lr in a while, and haven't been bothered by any shortages of rimfire ammunition. Being that I still have around 20,000 rounds of CCI-SV, SK Standard Plus, and RWS Championship Edition, the shortage will have to last at least another year or two to effect me. As well, it's usually the bulk crap that sells out quickest, so it may never effect me.

Saw the writing on the wall 3-4 year's ago. Every paycheck I bought 2 brick's the whole summer long.Think I'm at 30 brick's, maybe more

Cabelas in Barrie just recently got a batch of Mini Mags (300 round boxes) and lists them for $24. They wont be lasting long.

Probably already gone. Other then powder selection, Cabelas is very unimpressive. The want 4.99 for 100 LR primers, no break on a box of $1000. The people who work there seem to no very little about anything firearms related.

I didn't Know the shortage was this bad... This past summer I took a friend out to the range and we shot up a tonn of .22 federal.... Now I have 50rounds left... :(

Depends on who you talk to and about what. Not everyone is going to be an expert in all fields. But next time come see me and perhaps I can change that perspective. Ask for Cody at the gun counter - I am always up for a chat.
But to say people behind the counter know little makes me think you had 1 experience with 1 person and are painting everyone with the same brush.
