This .22LR shortage is starting to piss me off.

Ok so in all seriousness... What are your guys' thoughts on the fact that this bull#### ammo prices will ever end, and. Go back to the way it used to be?

10 cents a round or more is just ridiculous. But I guess if you wanna keep shooting the .22 you don't really have much choice.

I don't think you will see prices drop back to normal. However there still are a few gun shops/businesses who are not gouging, they have only increased prices according to our falling dollar. These are the shops to give your business to! I think a lot of the gouging is coming from the suppliers or middle man who supply your LGS. The EE also has its gougers, remember who they are. Personally I don't shoot a lot bulk ammo, SK Standard + is my plinking ammo, I'm a benchrest shooter, expensive hobby, case lots of ammo are costing me anywhere from $1100 - $1600 but it's my choice.

.22LR prices are up...waaay up, but it's still much cheaper to shoot than anything centerfire. I'm happy to have gotten the Velocitor's at $0.14/round and the Tactical at $0.10/round.

there is some cheap .22LR available still, comparatively, the Remington Bucket O Bullets...1400 rounds for $100, which is a hair over $0.07/round, but it's dirty and unreliable. at least I know with these CCI, my gun will go bang every time. :)

that said, I am still tempted to buy another $2K of BoB, just so I have some more .22LR I can shoot.

btw, $2K for the Velocitor & Tactical combined...actually, about $1850, taxes/shipping included.

I don't care for the new prices either but I hate to imagine what happens if they stop production
we know the manufacturers are not willing to expand to meet current .22 demand
but are they even willing to replace damaged or worn equiptment to keep current production ?

I have a good supply of bulk ammo that I paid around 5-6 cents per round. I have since picked up 2 bolt guns and started shooting BR. I shoot either SK standard plus @.13/round or cci mini mags. .10/round.I use way less ammo and usually hit my target. I can't believe people pay .10/round for bulk when you can get SK or cci for same or a few cents more.

Hoping im not the only one that feels this way but.. Coming from never being around guns before and buying my first gun last week(mossberg 702), I honestly don't really look at the price per round.. I see the price tag on the shelf and get to ask myself, do I really need 1600 rounds? Or 525, 333, 222. Whatever I actually need I buy, I'll end up continuing to buy boxes of 525 federals. But maybe it's all just because I'm a new gun owner im not used to the old prices... The way I see it, if I need it I'll buy it.

Well, I guess Ima {sort of} a believer. I live in a small town..& everytime I go into the local Home Hardware, I take a gander. Usually they dont have Much of anything..only subsonic .22 for the last 5/6 months. WELL..I just saw bricks of Rem.Thunderbolt..lol...that sh*t sucks. Comparatively. AND it was $53.99 for the brick. Yeaaahh....not long ago I bought Federal for $30 a brick & Yellow Jackets for $40... I'll see what they have currenbtly {at that place|} f**kkin beee essss...

Best I have found lately is Winchester 555's for $35, problem being I have to drive to a small village an hour away to get it! Lol

But, at the same store they carry bricks of Remington subsonics at $89 a brick LOL

Most crappy tires around here will have rem subs at like $8 per 50 if I recall.... Didn't think that crap was worthy of $5 a box even

WELL..I just saw bricks of Rem.Thunderbolt..lol...that sh*t sucks.

Thunderbolts have gotten an undeserved bad rep. I was getting them at LeBarons in Ottawa a few years ago, when working there(Ottawa, not LeBarons). At $149.99 a case, I can put up with the higher than average amount of duds.
Some say it's dirty, so clean your freakin' gun and stop whining. Accuracy is as good as any bulk ammo, and better than most.
Because I got so many bricks of it(@ $14.99 each, who could blame me, even when .22 LR was cheap and plentiful), I decided to see how reliably it would cycle in .22 semis.
At least as good as any other brand of bulk, in a wide variety of rifles and handguns. So if you ain't tried it, don't knock it.:)
