Not really a handgun guy, but pretty sure the 10mm has your poodle popper beat.

"...a Mattle toy..." A what?
The 10mm Auto isn't terrible to shoot. It's like a hot .45.
I don't have a background in ballistics but if you really want to compare the 5.7x28mm with 10mm, someone should post stats on velocity, kinetic energy, and penetration in ballistic gel. Recoil from the 5.7x28 round is generally low but there are some hot factory loads that kick more than 9mm. But these loads come out of a FiveseveN pistol at over 2200 fps and over 2900fps out of a 16" barreled PS90.![]()
It's actually called a Mattle toy. But sure, 10mm is a damn fine round, for those who don't shoot much or have iron wrists.
You aren't seriously thinking the 5.7 is anywhere near 10mm in almost all of those criteria are you? The 5.7 has the edge in velocity otherwise the 10mm is miles ahead in the others. They are two very different cartridges.
10mm = 180gr @ 1250fps = 624ft-lb10mm = 200gr @ 1150fps = 587ft-lb
My 180s run closer to 1400fps. Straight out of the Speer manual. I have read 200's can run safely at 1250 but I have never been able to get past about 1175 without pushing too hard.
