So I'm on the Trent river in my blind, aiming for geese.. first pair of hunters post up across from me and I swear they're shooting ducks when duck season isn't open yet, aka poaching.. next pair of hunters, are in a damn pontoon boat, trolling with the motor down, calling geese all the way up the river being dicks. Is it just me or does this upset anyone else here?

You can't fix stupid (as a buddy from Texas used to say). Sadly, among the many, many responsible and ethical hunters out there, you are bound to run into some moronic a-holes. Fortunately, I've rarely encountered them, but I've heard enough stories to make me sick. Mind you, it's just like driving. You can be the most responsible person on the road, but all it takes is one #### to make a mess of things.

Did you call anyone to report the poaching/illegal hunting?

No because I'm not 100 percent that they're poaching. Just really seems like it. They're hooting duck calls every now and then, figured they were just practicing but then I hear them shooting at something but I didn't see or hear any geese. As for the other ####s on the pontoon they came back again slow and steady just honking away. No bird is really coming anywhere near any of us.

I've had a distain for hunters since the invent of the 3, then 4 wheelers. 'Cause now any man can go where no lazy man had been before.:p

even though I own a 4 wheeler I 100% agree with this. I am very discreet using it where I hunt. yet the whole area gets the weekend warriors who wanna get out of there shell and go "quadding". sometimes during archery or muzzleloader you can latterly hear them constantly all day and on into the evening. the louder the exhaust the better they feel. no regard for private property. usually when the temps stay bellow zero later into November they stay home.

"love hunting, hate hunters"
Been saying it for decades.
As a landowner I get to see the worst of it.
Horse shot on posted property.
Trespassing on posted property.
Deer shot on the road right beside "no hunting or trespassing" signs.
Caught a guy walking out of posted property the day after I denied him permission...
It's endless...

Trent river...I assume Ontario (forgive me if I'm wrong)
Perhaps you should look at the regulations a bit harder. Today is waterfowl heritage day. Youth can duck hunt today, so perhaps it's someone taking an apprentice hunter out. As for the people in the boat, if you saw them breaking the law you should have reported them.

That's why hunters hate hunters, people hate hunters for other reasons

How about the guy that's done it perfect ? So we'll concealed and quiet from the break of dawn that you have no idea he is there UNTILL he blows away the critter you have been watching coming closer . Just about into your range . Wishing I would have got up earlier and walked further in . I Hate tha guy !!

Sorry this is me joking ( maybe )

Maybe anti-hunters, ever think of that?

I look at it this way, if I am 100% certain that someone is poaching, I will report them. If I am not 100% sure, I wont be complaining on forums like this one, as complaining here does absolutely nothing to deal with the issue.

Maybe it's just me but I figure if I can post on CGN from my duck blind, I'm not anywhere near far enough away from people.

OMG I best not work anything but a goose call while goose hunting or duck call while duck hunting etc. lest I be accused of poaching? I guess that means no more dying rabbit squeals while coyote hunting too? Don't want to be accused of torturing a bunny or something?
