This is why people hate hunters..

When your in your 70's let us all know how you make out with a downed animal a km off in the bush. Maybe then you may understand the difference between being able to get out to hunt or not. Pretty sad that some people consider hunters with mobility challenges are lazy.

Most of those guys are full of BS on hear They just don't like the competition !
I don't think you'd be able to please them unless you stay home
As circumstances as change I will be hunting on foot but it's different for me I actually know how to debone and smoke meat for packing out
Don't take the advice of that Nancy do-gooders use your ATV and trucks the important part is you're getting out there and participating Plus you know damn well Nancy do-gooder is using his ATV probably a hell of a lot more than you

The exact same way they did before the invent of the 3 and 4 wheeler. Like a man!

I'm sure many have distain for people with your kind of attitude towards other hunters....

I must admit, I do find his attitude extremely offensive. Some of us struggle everyday with issues of our declining mobility with advancing age. I now get to wakeup everyday and see what I cannot do today, that I once could, easily. So what, now I'm not a man, cause I can't walk without aid? His comment shows a total insensitivity and disrespect for those of us that gave so much so that he could even be born in Canada. What's next? Take away my cane? How about wheelchairs? Maybe he wants all us older folks that are declining, to be forcibly euthanized, so that he can hunt without us old farts getting in his way? To use a label, he just comes off like another 'entitled, punkass kid'; or maybe it's putting your own 'lily white ass' on the line for our country that makes a true man? He hunts, but wait until those 'hunted', 'hunt' you back; wild game doesn't shoot back......punk.

You could just let him use his "3 wheeler" until it tumbles on him..... Karma would take care of it, and you wouldn't even need a lawyer!!!

^^^^Thanks GGG. I was getting a bit too intense for his kind.:) The truth is, I don't hunt anymore; I maintain the base camp for those that still can, while I still can.

On the first day of open season here. I saw a wheel chair van parked on the side of the road in a decent location, no persons to be found. About 30 minutes after passing that van my friend and I head a shot ring out into the air, so we think to ourselves some chap just got lucky.

A little while later we were cruising back past where the van was and it was gone. This mobility challeneged hunter, out hunted two young 'healthy' and 'mobile' young guys.

It is interesting the sub cliques within the hunting community. I have no real right to say anything, but the chaps insulting those who can not go under their own power, in my opinion are wrong.

But I for one, was out hunted by a guy in a wheelchair. So I think we should stop being drama queens and let us all hunt in our own way ;)

Besides, this is the internet.

There is a big difference between an older guy or someone with mobility issues on a quad and some of the other users of quads. I am pretty sure the lazy comment was not directed toward those who are older or have mobility issues.

I for one won't turn my nose up when it comes to using one for game retrieval either.

We could hang out!! I love to shoot, but can take or leave hunting. I'll get a tag and push bush, but I'm just as happy being outside and being social. I don't need to be the trigger man.

ther is permits that will allow disable hunters to shoot right from ther vehicles
If I was disable I would be getting one

Yet another thread on the mighty Interweb where hunters freely bash other hunters for not doing things "their" way. Some days I wonder why the antis work so hard when hunters are quite willing to do it for them?

Any northern Alberta Hunter with mobility issues can PM me if thay need help with game retrieval or butchering loding a ATV etc.
I'm starting work in Edmonton and working my way to fox creek going to be hunting days off in Hinton and Grand Prairie and I'm up to helping if I can

For the young guy this is how to man up
Get off your ass and help the older hunters and help the disabled hunters and quit thinking of just yourself

Ya know what, I will offer the same. I roam anywhere within a hour or two of kamloops. So if anyone needs help, drop me a line.

It's not just the hunters, it the whole shooting community. Your words are very true.

Very classy by Carver and Abdullah.

I use a quad and I am not mobility challenged. You know why? For the same reason I use a rifle instead of a spear. The same reason I use a tent instead of a lean-to. For the same reason I drive a truck to my hunting spots instead of hiking 100km packing my spear and wearing rawhide boots. Yes guys on quads can be a-holes. Guys in trucks can be a-holes. Elitist twits who think they know the only manly way to hunt can be a-holes too. I don't use my method of hunting or the tools I use to show how 'manly' I am. I hunt for food. The faster and easier I get that food to my freezer, the better. I wonder if these guys fish from a boat, of if they think they only 'manly' way to fish is from the shore or from a hand made raft or birch bark canoe.
