This mornings Blackfoot closure?

Not sure but it could be related to the huge crackdown in Airdrie last night, the police closed off a good portion of the main street road running through town, never seen that before. All entrances and exits to the area were blockaded off. Just North of Calgary, last night round 7 Pm.

Actually I'm seeing reports from CTV that were about a suspicious package in the same area. Between heritage and glenmore on Blackfoot.

. . . the plot has chickens . . . or CTV is slow on the newsfeed pull . . .

Sometimes I hate this city. Well.. late night to early morning FREE range times = Armed guards at no cost.
Really though I hope they didn't cause too much damage.

....truck rammed the storefront, a device described as a firebomb fell out of the back of the truck. Planned on burning everything after looting?!

Jeez what's wrong with some people hey?? Glad that it seemed to turn out ok for the Edge though, seems like it could have been much worse. Hopefully they catch up to these morons quick

Damn, you guys have dealt with some BS in tha last little while. Hope they are able to put names to the idiots.

The owner of a Calgary shooting range says a firearm theft was thwarted this morning.
J.R. Cox, owner of the Shooting Edge said at 5 a.m. someone tried to drive a truck through the storefront of his business in the 7600-block of Blackfoot Trail.
Cox said the truck did not make it through the reinforced walls.
“They tried to get in and they were unsuccessful,” said Cox.
“When they tried to drive away, two fire bombs fells out of the truck and one exploded in the parking lot.”
Cox said the explosives were discovered while watching surveillance video of the incident.
“What it looks like is they were going to rob the place and try to burn it down,” said Cox.
Police briefly shut down Blackfoot Trail but it has since been reopened.
Duty inspector Bruce Walker said a vehicle was found a few blocks away but the driver had fled.
“It was minimal damage to the address,” said Walker.
Cox said nothing was taken from the store.
“Our security worked as advertised and we got really good video.”
In October, police say at least 30 firearms were taken from the Calgary Shooting Centre after a truck was used to ram into the storefront. Once inside, the culprits smashed the display cases and took the guns before leaving.
Two men were charged in that case but the missing firearms have not been found.

some 10', 6" steel pipe filled with cement and buried upright 6' deep will deter any future attempts ... twice this happened?

Lucky for us we were just in the middle of some renos so we can divert the contractors already in place. :)

That's good!

I'm going to be in Calgary for business in a couple weeks and was planning to come and visit TSE while I'm there, so I'm glad to hear it isn't anything that will shut you down.

It will be easy to catch the criminals. I'm assuming they had got their ATTs for the pistols they wanted ahead of time so someone should have them on file.

Serious note, glad to hear everything is okay! You guys are awesome and are my range of choice in Calgary.

October was Calgary Shooting Center.

Today was The Shooting Edge.

There is concrete pillars in front of TSE. CSC is elevated with a concrete foundation 4 feet higher than street level.

Criminal wants your stuff they'll try regardless of what you do.
