Thompson SMG

If I may inject something, anyone have a model 1921 or 1928 Colt tsmg? What about the chests made for the 1928?

I know of 1 Colt here in the Calgary area. 12.2
Ive got a Bridgeport 28 with the homeguard wood case. Photos have been posted here years ago.
The Colt 28s were just 1921s that the 1 was overstamped with an 8. Only other model Colt made was the semi 1927, again though "just" a 1921 modified.

I have lost more money than most people have invested in their collections. Either going to court with no support
from the gun owners over registration issues or lost firearms that government said I couldn't own. The Police
have to enforce the laws they are given. The same guy who registered a turn in gun, came and got it. He knew
it wasn't a cheap gun, but there was nothing either of us could do, it was in the registry.
I don't hate the Police over it, I am disappointed in Government Officials who made the list and don't have to answer for it.

Yup, I've done the same thing, and campaigned with/to those same gun owner groups. I've made numerous posts on this site regarding the lack of support by our very own "groups" regarding these ugly black firearms. From their very own mouths, we were thrown under the bus because we have so few numbers of ownership. 12.2 12.3 12.4 12.5 owners didn't make up that much of a political voice so "screw us".

Anyway, anyone who can show some photos of Canadian Colt Thompsons, would be warmly thanked:d

One of the "heros" of the "movement" said our court case wasn't worth supporting. Two years later we won, and
he bought an fa! Didn't give us any money for the court case about registration issues.

Maybe we can get this post back to collecting guns, parts and assy's. For some reason I am having problems
trying to post pics. Tablet issue? I used to use a computer. I was going to post a pic of an m1a1 that had the
barrel shortened by the Brazil Federal Police.

I have an FN FAL in Ottawa with the lab rats since February 2014.
There is an Acceptable Service Standard for all government departments, but this appears to be ignored by the RCMP.
I contacted the office of Steven Blaney Minister of Public Safety but got sent to another department.

can14, Didn't read all 12 pgs. of discussion, but were you aware 2 of VPD's 1928 Thompsons were Stainless Steel ? I SAW their 'rack' at 312 Main St. many years ago, and Sgt. in charge told me they were for "Protecting gold bullion shipments to China. Where the CN/CP rail ended at the docks, was where the 2 S/S was ones were deployed due to the 'salt air'." Many have called 'B.S.' on this saying 'S/S wasn't INVENTED yet !' , but in fact it was between 1912 & 1915. A friend of mine's uncle also has a 'Vintage' S/S 1928.
That WAS quite a 'rack' at VPD, all nicely wrapped in oiled cloth, Sgt. impressed the HELL out of me ! He also said 'to the best of his knowledge and inspection of each, they all appeared unfired.' ;-p , it is too 'drool' !

Vancouver PD got some colt guns from Lever Arms. The smelter in Trail BC had many of these guns for security.
Lever traded shotguns etc for them so anyone could act as security and passed them to VPD. Some were sold
to private collectors. This was many years ago

What does everyone think? Are there more model 1928 guns in collections or m1/m1a1 guns? Are the dewat guns new imports or fa/ca guns that have been dewated?
Anyone looking to buy or sell guns, parts and accessories? Are prohibited licenced dealers doing most of the purchases? Just a day to wonder about stuff.
