Those running 9mm, do you run 115-124-147 grain ammo?

everyone I shoot with needed it when they started reloading the 147 instead of the 124 and putting the 147gr loads through 124gr setup guns ended with rounds hitting high.
My load for the Shadow is 3.2 of Titegroup behind a Zero 147. Cycles softer than the comparable PF 124 and the Zeros are very accurate. It wears a 6.0mm front sight (stock is 5.5) and the POI is right on. I shoot the same load in all my 9's.

I also found 147s hitting high with the factory front sight. I shoot 124s.

From what I've seen, a lot of 115gr factory ammo and some 124gr factory won't make minimum power factor. It depends on your gun of course, but one shooter here ran a variety of factory 9mm through his Shadow and was quite surprised to find that some brands are a little light.
Yup the UMC 115 grain ammo was the culprit in my case. Half did not make PF.

I shoot IPSC with BDX ammo in 124 grain the power factor is great for me and they are making them with nickel casing right now. 147 would stick in the chamber on my shadow so I strictly stick with the 124s. BDX sells a box of 2400 rounds for 499.00. Its clean stuff too I have used Blazer and American Eagle and will never go back!

Do they ship, or you pick-up from local distributor ?

Thanks !

key difference between 124/147 IMHO is slide cycling speed. since 124s will cycle the slide faster, technically (all else being equal) your follow up shots should be faster with 124s (since your front sight is ready faster - assuming you are aiming for the second shot)

personally i notice NO difference in recoil or snap between the two but prefer 147s (just cuz)

PS: all that being said, Remington UMC 115s are my fav factory load, softest factory recoil and consistent ammo :)

hey mshundal i believe you shoot the same division and class as I in IPSC - do you reload your own ammunition?
I'm always looking to get more suggestions from other shooters that shoot IPSC classic.

I run a 9mm Trojan in Classic and love it!
The gun's kind of picky on bullet shape, (nose-dives) but once I came back to a basic FMJ RN all the problems went away. The Zero 147 FMJ with titegroup is my go-to load. The plated 147 Berry is very nice too.

I have ordered a 1000 round box 147gr from canada ammo, federal american eagle. Since i have shot more than 6000x 124gr in a row, i will immediatly notice if there is a difference in accury/recoil. I will make sure to post up my personnal opinion on it.

hah yeah i shoot classic minor too, started with major but switched pretty damn quick

so heres the deal, i started (minor that is) with reloaded ammo - campro 147s (universal clays, 3.8 grains - slightly hot but anything less makes the slide cycling feel anaemic). initially i had issues with the truncated nose bullets but once we got the gun dialed-in, its running as fast as it can in current config.

so about a month ago coach had an idea that my slide still seemed anemic when cycling so bought a 1000 campro 124gr bullets. initial load was 125gr bullet + 4.3gr universal clay. we went to the range and shot off approx. 400 rounds just to test the timing. i consistently had 0.19 splits with 147s, compared to 0.27 with 124s. personally i think i am just used to the 147s and am pretty sure I haven't hit the ceiling of the gun cycling/trigger speed so i'm inclined to stick with a load i know that works.

PS: this is all subjective, play around with what you like and stick with it :)
