Those running 9mm, do you run 115-124-147 grain ammo?

Hey, i recently completed black badge in early november. The more i participate into ipsc events at my range, the more i am getting the feeling this sport gets me comming back for more. And i now want to try to up my game, so other that training i can only review my equipment. Reloading is not an option at the moment. I have tried both 115gr and 124gr. 115 was much more snappy than 124. Does the same apply for 147? Would it be less snappy than 124?

What load was it though?

Generally speaking 115gr bullets make more sense because they are lighter, but if you're using a hot load then you will have more felt recoil. The best IPSC production load was the Geco 124gr FMJ, which was specifically designed to make minor out of a Glock 17, so it had less recoil than most factory loads. However for reasons known only to themselves, when RUAG took over Dynamit Nobel, they moved production to Thun and upped the MV so now it has more recoil.

If you're stuck with factory ammo, the only real answer is to buy several different types and stick with whichever one you like best, but 147gr bullets mean more muzzle flip. But on the other hand they take plates down more reliably.

Have you got a source for that? I thought it was Jeff Cooper who said that.
