Thousand yard pistol

105gr at 2900 from a barrel under 16" is quite the achievement.

I have to push it pretty hard to get 2900 and it is extremely hard on the barrel, my last barrel only lasted 1200 rounds before my groups opened up.

At least you didn't call it a "handgun".

I feel that such firearms are about as far from handguns as we can get and still not be called a rifle. But that aside these no stock guns are sure cool.

I've seen videos of the guys shooting similar bolt action "pistols" without the front bipod from the knees up "Creedmore" (?) position where they brace the gun off their leg instead of off a table. And they shoot at steel rifle silhouette animal targets out to 300 some yards with regular iron sights. A feat which is every bit as amazing as your 5 and 8 inch targets at 1000 with that scope.

All in all an area of gun technology and shooting skills that I can admire even if I'm not at all interested in getting into it myself.

Sir, with hat in hand, I retract my misguided skepticism.

That there is something else. How the hell do you even see a 5" plate at 1000 yards. That's bonkers! Well done.

Damn son! You know how to put 7 fingers to better use than most with 10... I have the deepest admiration for your practice, dedication and resulting skills.

At 1000 yards with a 9mm, I'm surprised there's any splatter at all. How fast would a 147gr bullet be traveling at that distance?

If you watch just below and to the left of the balloon at 1:04 there is no black mark from the hit. At a tiny bit past 1:06 the balloon is busted. At 1:07 you can see the black mark from the hit low and to the left of where the balloon was. You can easily see the only black mark appear from the hit where the balloon is not when playback is full screen 1080p and even easier if you know where to watch at 0.25 playback speed.
