While returning from a walk in the woods looking for whitetails, I heard the barking of a coyote not too far off in the bush (~11:30am). Just for fun I gave a cottontail call a few blows only to have a bush rabbit run in out of nowhere and stop about 6 feet away, staring at me (first time I've called in a rabbit with a wounded rabbit call
)
I figured that the coyote couldn't be far behind, and, sure enough, a bouncing blond 'yote came in through the bush. One 'yote turned out to have a partner. First shot was followed by a quick second at the 'yote on the left - two down!!!
As I was topping up my mag a blur of fur caught my eye - was the second one up again? Kaboom, check it out, three 'yotes down!
That's a first.
