Been out the last couple of days and twice heard 3 shots with in a minute or 2. I have never been able to get 3 good shots at a deer and when i hear that i usually think its some cowboy taking wild shoots at a running deer that they never get. Maybe wound and can't find because they dont know where to start looking.
In my opnion these guys are taking hail mary shots with no consideration for the deer or others in the area. Anybody think the same?

Depends on situation. When my hunting partner shot our bear this year he took two well placed shots. The first was a good double lung shot but the bear decided it wanted to try to run with a broken shoulder. The second was close behind that shot as it was on the move.

3 years ago I was on point near a large poplar bluff. A large 5x5 came boiling out of the bluff as fast as whitetails can run. He had 80 yards to get to the safety of the next bluff but he didn't make it alive. I put 3 shots into his chest and found him stone dead about 50 feet into the next bush. I was using a bolt action 308.

In Southern Ontario during shotgun season, we usually take the second shot after the slugs, in case deer is still around.

Some people load shotguns differently, they load buck shot, buck shot and slug, so they take both buck shots fairly quickly.

In mid Ontario, people push deer on second or third day of deer hunting, so they might be flushing the deer. So depends.

Maybe they had bear tags and a couple came in and more than one hunter was shooting?

I think you have no business making assumptions from the sounds. I also think you have very little hunting experience, or you would know that 3 shots "within a minute or two" can mean many, many things. Finally, making judgemental conclusions from the sounds of distant shots is really, well ...... judgemental.

Agree with the above. They could also be small game hunting as most small game is open right now. Another trend I've noticed in Ontario lately is that guys will start sighting in their guns during hunting season. I've heard guys popping off entire boxes of ammo trying to get their gun sighted in.

Couple of things. Been hunting whitetail since i was 14 so thats 35 years. Shot 1 or 2 deer a season depending on what province i was living in and tag situation. So i do have a little hunting experience.
Yes it judgemental. Where im hunting now its fairly heavy bush with very few openings more than 25 yards across. So this morning 15min after legal light i hear a quad going in one of the bush trails. It stops 3 shots within 1.5 mins. Hear quad again after 3 or 4 mins leave area.
In the last 2 seasons i have found the remains of 2 deer and a bear cub that were shot and left.
How would you judge this mornings?

Maybe you should just stay home and keep your ridiculous comments to yourself. :(

I have this thing that when I hear a shot or multiple shots I mind my own ####ing business and could care less who, when, where, what or why they shot unless we are hunting together then I need to know in case I am needed to help out. Pretty simple.
