1. Can anyone point me to a how-to post, article, video, etc. that shows how to disassemble the trigger group on an SKS-D. I have seen such how-to's for the regular SKS, but the magazine catch on the SKS-D seems to complicate things.
2. What should the inside of the gas system look like. Should there be some sort of dry lube coating inside. I have an old beater, and I scraped out a thick layer of shiny grey crusty stuff a long time ago and have worried about it ever since because the piston does not slide very smoothly inside. The piston also has some rust/pitting on it
3. Has anyone ever had their barrel recrowned? Is there a cheap place to have this done in Alberta? My crown is awful - I have given serious consideration to just giving it a few spins with a 1/2" metal bit using a cordless drill because it would be a major improvement over the current situation.
