When I can not get to a range to shoot, I do not like to litter my property with clay. I buy cheap bagged potatoes. For me they are easier to thow and large ones can be cut to hand size. A well centered shot will completly desintegrate and they are easy to toss doubles. Ones that are not hit well can be re tossed. I have not calculated the cost, but my last large bag cost me $2.50 ish. Clays cost about 11 cents each. No argument with potatoes either. When someone claims a chip that no one else saw you can just pick up the spud and the evidence or lack of evidence is there for all the world to see. It is fun and I am sure giving my new 391 a workout.
