Thumbs down to this hunt.

How far is that? 4-500 yards off-hand? (I hunt BC bush, be kind) I hope someone can recognize this idiot. 5 year firearms ban, and slap in the head. I hope this is just an anti firing blanks.

Everything is safe in his area.

very true, but there is a chance of getting hit by stray bullet...

I actually started laughing out loud...

I was like #### I hunt from sept to march I'd be lucky to take that many shots all season hunting multiple species and I've already got two animals at the taxidermist and one in the freezer.

A good rest such as a bi-pod or shooting stick would of helped. Free-hand is most difficult at long range, especially at a moving target. I hope that he didn't wound any elk.

On a side note the video led me to finding this one. Thats the problem with youtube you go on to watch one vido and next thing you know a couple hours have past by...

Idiot shoots at several DIFFERENT elk, at long range, shooting from offhand - the most unstable position possible, without knowing whether or not he has hit one, two, or more, and then posts his "performance" for everyone to see and comment on.
Big herds of late season elk get that response from to far too many hunters. Have seen it and the wasted animals that result from such behaviour. This moron was actually proud enough to post a video. How sad.
How about picking ONE animal that is apart form the herd. And shooting from a steady shooting position - ANYTHING BUT offhand! Or, just waiting for a better opportunity...

Those of you with filming experience help me out if I am wrong here.

That gun sure sounded light in terms of sound and the clickity clack of the reloading and what seemed to be changing to a new mag made the rifle sound almost like a 22.

Secondly I did not here him utter a word or sound after missing. Every hunter I've ever met usually follows a display like that with a few choice words.

Also, the animals run one way then another. From my experiences when a herd takes of it usually sticks to one direction for a bit unless it hits lets say a High fence ?

Vid looks a little fishy. As was said the full story is not there.

BTW flock shooting just isn't a wise strategy.

Kelly, the video is posted for public consumption. We have opinions because it matters! I have been in this shooters position many times. It is tempting to act as this shooter did, but it is most definitely NOT OK to start shooting at one animal and then switch to another. It is also inexcusable to choose to shoot from the worst possible position instead of getting steadier. The shooter had plenty of time.
My experience tells me that under those circumstances, several elk may have been hit and left to die a slow death from wounds. Even quickly fatal hits are seldom apparent at long range. Of the 15 or so elk that I have personally killed, most travelled an average of 40 yards after the shot, and many showed no evidence of a fatal hit. It is inexcusable to start shooting an an animal, not know if it is hit or not, and then switch to another. And it is never, ever a bad thing to pass up a shot.
You are actually supporting this activity or think it is ethically neutral? The worst possible excuse for bad hunter behaviour is so the shooter can record a video to post on the internet!
