Ok as promised.. I received my Thureon Defense 9mm carbine today and promised I would post my thoughts.
First a disclaimer.. I know nothing about carbines and this is my first. I'm mostly a pistol guy with 1 .22 cal rifle. So I can only comment on the look and feel of the gun.
I can say with impunity, "This gun feels and looks great" (of course looks are subject to opinion). The feel is amazing, The only pieces of plastic on the whole gun are the adjustable butt stock and the pistol grip. Everything else is powder coated metal. No matter how close I look, I can't find a tool mark or imperfection.
Breakdown is super easy, once you have a quick read over the directions. No tools required. Push the 2 pins and everything just comes apart.
I did however have one issue. When I took the breach apart for the first time to install the charging handle the "buffer retaining pin" and "buffer retaining spring" fell out. It appears that the buffer tube was not screwed in far enough during assembly to hold the pin in place. Can someone with more experience confirm this for me? I can post some close ups if required. Unfortunately I don't have the tools to loosen the collar and screw the tub in farther. It appears that it won't hinder the function of the riffle without it though.
I will be heading off to the range tomorrow and will post some more thoughts then.
Without further adieu.. PICS....
