Thureon Defense - Gun #### PIC HEAVY

Well I received my mags today..

Good news.. Bad News..

The Bad News... Unmodified, the mags FTE every 4 rounds (or so)!

The Good News... They can be modified to function flawlessly. The modification is relatively simple if you have any mechanical skills. It only requires 2 tools, a hammer and a file.

I will post some pictures with details in a day or so. Yay I'm happy to have another option for mags. Who knows how long it will take the government to release Arms East for the Thureon 10 rounders.

P.S. Adub - I think you will really like it. I love the gun every time I shoot it.

32 1/2" with the stock collapsed

35 1/2" with the stock extended.

It fits in a cheapy Canadian Tire hard plastic gun case with the stock extended or collapsed. It might not fit if you have a large optic on it.

Thats not too bad size. Some of the double rifle cases outside or smaller compartment is around that size i do believe. Im thinking of using just a small burris fastfire on thureon so that shouldnt be an issue space wise. Saw a condor bungee sling that might work well to hang rifle off shoulder. Its just a point mount assuming it could connect to back of stock somewhere.http://www.lapolicegear.com/single-bungee-sling-single-bungee.html

Im on wait list now with arms east, was supposed to be before month is over. But who knows. From reading board it seems delivery guidelines come and go with firearms imported from states.

Thanks for your patience, I hope it is rewarded.

TD are a small, custom shop, currently buried in orders.

We are waiting on the GA guns. As of Monday this week I am aware we enter the last manufacturing stage of Thureon Defense readying 9mm 19" GA rifles for Canada.

OT Question, is there a demand for restricted 16" rifle, including 45ACP? A lot of the delay on our carbines is related to the 19" barrels, TD informs us that 16" barreled guns in calibres other than 9mm can ship sooner. Would that not be a hold-up for some range shooters? This would apply to 10mm/40S&W as well. Let me know please. I said I would ask.

But to soon availability, 9mm GA 19" Carbines are in the mix for dealer shelves in April, I hope.

Ill try to be patient:), looks like fun gun so am eager to receive it. For sake of two inches, i feel non restricted is a no brainer. More freedom equals more use in my mind. Tell thureon we dont mind waiting but they should throw in a free sling or bag,lol Then we can help convert the JR Carbine masses on here for them.

Ok I said I would post some pictures of how to modify the Questar mags to work with the Thereon. Here are the pics with instructions.

1. Here is the original C-Products follower. Notice that its nice thick plastic. I'm not sure what kind of plastic it is, but my dremel didn't melt it or burn it.

2. Here is the un-modified magazine housing. The arrow is showing where we need to file a little material.

3. Here is the completed follower. I rounded off the front (and rear cause I'm OCD) and ground the channels. The goal is to make the channels more horizontal so the bullets lay flatter. So you want to remove material from the front of the channel and not the back. You don't actually have to round the front but I found it would FTE on the last round if you didn't.

4. Here is the completed mag body. I did a sh!t job on this one but it works. You only really need to remove material from the first 1/4 inch of the lip. I got a little carried away here.

5. Finally here is a round sitting in the mag. Notice how there is very little gap at the back of the round. The goal is to have little to no gap (This mag could actually be tweaked a little). If you test fire the mags and they FTF or FTE then simply grind a little more off the front of the channel.

So when the GA version comes to Canada, will the regular glock magazine be legal to use?
I have heard conflicting information saying it is illegal cause it is a semi auto rifle and it should be pinned to 5 rounds.

If a magazine is determined to be designed and manufactured only for a pistol (as are Glock magazines) then they follow pistol rules. 10 rounds.

(If it is determined to be designed and manufactured for two different firearms, then they will be pinned to the lower capacity of the two.)

Slap it in a semi-auto rifle and go nutty. Perfectly legal. Just ensure your nuttiness is performed in a safe manner of course.
