Thureon Defense - Gun #### PIC HEAVY

fnrob... Good to know that I could buy a magazine that I just need to modify it to work..

I know for sure that Arms East will have 10 round mags designed for the Pistol version. I have spoke with them personally and they said they are just waiting for licensing, the mags and pistols are already here.

mrcarbine.. Can you explain how it could damage the upper. I'm looking at where the pin goes and when the receiver is pushed all the way back it is no where near the pin. The pin only comes into play when the receiver is removed to retain the spring in the buffer tube.

I have attached a picture that shows where the pin goes. The receiver is in the farthest rear position in the picture. How does the pin come into play here? How would it stop the charging handle from hitting the keyway? In this picture, the charging handle is all the way to the back of the keyway.

Woldn't have been a better solution
what I said in my first post in your thread?
Actually what you want are the Glock mags. They take 10 rnds.

So, perhaps you should pay attention to the thread,
or whatever is the advice you were trying to give me.
Bummer ;)

If I'm reading their website right, the 9mm AR-15 mags shouldn't have to be modified to work in it - the carbine was designed around them, not the Uzi mags. They just must have dicovered that if you were to modify an Uzi mag, it would work in the carbines as well. If it were designed around the Uzi mags instead, the Uzi mags wouldn't need to be modified to work in it - they'd probably just use the original notch for the magazine catch instead and save themselves a lot of extra work.

Ok I have one further thing to add to the review..

I was going through my ammo and discovered that the ammo we shot on Sunday was my "Opps" ammo. My dyslexia kicked in while I was loading it and it only got 3.4gr of powder instead of 4.3gr.

So we shot about 150 - 200 rounds of that an never had one single problem. I'm really surprised that we didn't have any stovepipes. Those rounds have really light recoil.

Ok I really wanted to post this so everyone can appreciate how easy this gun is to strip. I put together a picture gallery showing how to strip. You can view it here.

Yes I know the gun is filthy. That would be my Oops (thanks boomer74) ammo. Titegroup is dirty as hell when you load light.

Enjoy.

Ok I thought I would update this and post the breakdown pictures inside the post so they get some more love. I think it will make it a little easier for anyone comparing the JR (with the infamous video) and this gun.

I also wanted to update with some new pictures with the "Monolithic" rail.

It turns out the Arms East appreciated that I took the time to review the gun and sent me the Monolithic rail as a "Thank You". A very cool thing for them to do, and it left me speachless.

In any case, here's what it looks like now.

I was at the range today doing some shooting with my brother. I still love it, and it still has been flawless. If I had one compaint, I wished the charging handle didn't wear the paint off on the side.

I have confirmed that the mags on Questar's website will fit and work, but will probably jam if they are not modified. The modification involves grinding some of the right hand feed lip. Its actually a pretty easy mod.

Ok I'm brave so I ordered 2 and will try it.

Sonofa#####.. Looks like Questar dropped the price of those mags right after I purchased. I mean literally right after I purchased. Within a couple of hours.

I'm trying to get a hold of them to see if they will honor the new pricing for me. Basically I could have gotten 5 mags for $5 more than I paid for 2.

We will see what kind of company Questar is..
