Tigrr's 8th 1 mile shooting event.

Grey goose??? Is that the stuff that comes with an avon gift card? What do the french know about vodka? Lol. Hell a case of mudslides is manlier than the goose! ;)

I don't drink Grey Goose but i figured it would be better than the "turpentine" I offered last time. I have been told by some that it was really good. BTW that was funny.

In the likely absence of a "kill" shot we can go with first hit shooting black powder then first shooting smokeless.

Bobjoe. Don't take your lack of discerning taste in liquor out on us. Hahaha!

I offer up a Texas of the ol' Hinton special blend spiced rum. A prize truly worth winning.

Ok I'll figure out a good bottle to bring.

Grey Goose is not made in the Ukraine!!
Nemiroff Lex Vodka is!

Black powder?? I don't own any black powder!!

Hmmm 4 buffalo out at 1000 yards. Each launches 10 shots and then we drive out and count hits. The buffalo with the most hits is the winner. I need some 4X8 steel plate. 3/16 or 1/4 inch.
Where and when?
Anytime after house is finished one who looks over shoulder says!!

I think I found the rife I want. An 1874 Sharps with a double trigger. Now where can I find a replica??

Tigrr I know where you can buy black powder if it helps ;)

I have a case of lex. You sir, have good taste. ;)

We can spot shots at 1000 pretty easy. Should be easy to figure out, provided we can see the target.

I'm in no panic to do it. I need to work up a load for some big lead pills.

UPDATE
Buffalo at 1000 yards(might be 800 depending on elevation settings.) Lots of spots to set this up anytime.
The firearm has to be 18th century or a replica of an 18th century gun. Iron sites. Black powder(smokeless too because I don't have all the drop tube equipment and such). 500 grain lead pill or heavier(no jacketed). 45/70 cal. Let the wailing begin.
Mine will be a replica of the Marlin 1895 Cowboy. Now to find sites again.
The H&R Bufffalo Classic is a 1871 repro too!! More sites to find.
Now I have to learn a new shooting discipline.
I'll start the search for steel to make 4 buffalo's. I see another shoot coming on.
Here's a thought.
A item goes on the table we all launch 5 - 10 pills out at the target, the best/most hits wins. Come back another item goes on the table, launch 5/10 again, repeat.

Thats seems like a good idea. So it on then!

Now Now Boys!

Yes, thanks so much Hugh and Sally for everything. Great shoot, and I appreciate how much work you folks put into it. Of course, you raised the bar again......

This is supposed to be fun competition shooting, not competition event organizing!;)
Our thanks to everyone that made it a stellar weekend. Thanks to Mrs Johnny boy for carrying the torch singlehanded for the women shooters. Thanks to Mrs DMay for letting me know about the Ukrainian choir. Look forward to seeing you all again.
