Yes, the 1-8" twist will stabilize the Sierra 80gr. very nicely. I don't see any problem with 45grs. also. The .223 round is not a magnum cartridge. Fire a group @100yds and see how they do. Yes he does. I've done quite well with his barrels @ Connaught. I have over 5,000 rds in the .223 barrel and it still puts Sierra 80grs. in .3 moa.baldtop said:McLennan makes excellent barrels.
