Tikka Arctic

I find the retail price offensive lol.
I'd buy a Garand if you are horny for decent iron sights, save a few bucks and you get a semi.
Even these old S&L converted K98's that Tradex had for under $500 are pretty sweet, and chambered for a better cartridge.

I think if the tikka was priced more in line with the ruger gunsite scout they would be lots more popular
That said they are very nice rifles

Got mine two years ago. Used a cantilever scope mount backwards to avoid the interference with the iron sights. It's an amazing rifle. New our of the box, zero feeding issues. Stock is great quality, good weight. Front sight needed to be tightened. No adjustments needed at 100yrs with irons. No regrets on the purchase.

Gents what’s the consensus other than overpriced. I fondled one in Cabela’s. Smooth action, I like the iron sights, not sure about trigger since they won’t take trigger lock off to test. If you can find Sako iron sight set I guess you can make one from a cheaper version. I see a CSC has one for $2700. Thoughts.
CZ and Tikka had a competition on a scout gun for the canadian armed forces apparently it was a pretty close race but tikka won

Actually Colt Canada is producing the bolt, barrel and receiver under license from Sako - that's why they won the new Ranger rifle contract.

If you buy an Arctic it is all produced by Sako (Tikka)
Which I guess is a deal compared to what our Government agreed to pay for these things through Colt...like $8k a piece.
Did Colt Canada get bought up by CZ or they still a Gov leech here?

This rifle is fantastic! Long sight radius and nice heavy barrel

If you can find a used CZ 557 Range rifle, they are an excellent alternative and cheaper. I owned both and the CZ had zero feeding issues and just as accurate. Both are rock solid rifles and quite accurate. Ultimately, I wanted a softer shooting calibre and found a CZ 557 Lux short action in 243. Bought a spare 10 and 4-round mag for it and I am very happy with it. I also bought an OEM polymer stock for it. I will never dis a Tikka though as I have owned several over the years and generally like them alot, but hard to justify the cost of an Arctic unless you really want one.
