Tikka are ugly

nothing wrong with the Savage Axis it shoots the same bullets as the more expensive safe queens

Why does the axis squad seem to think expensive rifles don’t get shot?

Really doubt there are a lot of tikka safe queens around…

I've never had a light primer strike with any of my Tikkas and it's always shot perfectly but I can't say that about my Savage Axis 2 (223). What a bad design that is... I'll never buy a Savage Axis short action.

I have owned three Tikka T3 rifles. The stocks are not well designed, particularly for
chamberings that generate a fair amount of recoil. Two of my Tikka's were quite
accurate, the 3rd, not so much. Worked hard, trying to find something it liked, to
no avail. 1.3 moa was the best group I ever shot with it, and only once, at that.

I own none right now, but I would not say I will never buy another one, just that I
have other preferences. [Not Savage, though] Dave.

So do some people realize that a stock is one of the easiest things you can change on a rifle? And that there is a plethora of options for Tikka's?

Nope. People don't care that you can change them they just want something to hate on and the good popular rifles are easy targets. I could change every single part in a tikka and someone like buckmaster will still show up and whine and grumble about the fact that it's still a garbage tikka

the downfall of the other 3 large companies actually drove up the value of the poor lonely Tikka, the quiet gurl in the corner that never spoke, never paraded around and showed off, just sat there quietly, as the other 3 loudmouths showed their true colors, went on a hiatus, screwed everyone over, disappointed from start to finish, and when everyone was sick of the theatrics and the drama, the quiet one in the corner got noticed.......and never disappoints, still isn't all that flashy, or voicetress, lacks drama and baggage, lawsuits, and yet still remains faithful.........I don't care how well they can dance, if they can't cuddle they get shown the door quick

Weatherby Vanguard is a nicer rifle in my opinion. The plastic stock is much better quality with less felt recoil than the Tikka. No arguments here about the great accuracy of the Tikka just that the plastic stocks cheapen the rifle. The wooden stocked Tikkas I have shot were much nicer shooting and a lot better looking. It's hard for me to find any love for plastic stocked guns but would take a Weatherby over a Tikka any day.

I found the stock fit of the T3 fantastic. I had a Ruger M77 in 30-06 and T3 in 30-06, maybe 1.5 lbs weight difference between the two. I found the recoil in the Tikka a soft shove, the Ruger more of a sharp smack. This being said I can't speak to how their stocks manage recoil on anything over 30-06.

I’ve been trying to like them. But my opinion still stands, especially with the full plastic versions. They generally shoot well. What doesn’t?
