tikka rifles

Just bought a t3 lite in .308 and have had it to the range once. So far I really like it. Just wish the 5 round mags didnt cost so much.

I realize this thread is 2007 but honestly I am quite sure that more Tikka owners have surfaced since the last post (12-23-2007) including me :D
I picked up a blued T3 in 6.5x55 and absolutely LOVE it, So much that now I'm looking for another in .308.

My very first gunI bought was Tikka M695 in 7mm mag. It is still to this day my go to rifle. I now handload for it and have taken bears, deer and moose.

I have also owned a ton of other rifles since buy it ( Win, Rem, Browning) and besides a particular Savage I now have in 7X57 I have sold them all and kept the Tikka. I do want to try a Weatherby. Maybe a SS Syn backcounrty type or the Ultra lite.

Got a t3 lite in 30-06,put a 3-9 Leupold and a muzzle break on it,.5-.75 moa. Love it so much I'm picking up the same gun in .223 next wknd.:D

M595 or T3?

A buddy of mine did that "Mananer", he bought a T3 in '06 an identical one in .222 Rem.
Like mentioned, I have the T3 in 6.5 Swede and am looking at either a M595 or T3 in .308........ Which one??
The 595 has some really good reviews...they both have really good reviews

I bought a T3 Lite 3006 in 2008 to take to Africa as back rifle. It was cheap and had a good reputation. I put 300 rounds through it, all reoads. I started with 165 gr tsx 47gr IMR 4350 and it shot 3/4 inch so I figured my reloading development was over. I ran out of 4350 and tried a max load of 55gr H414 which grouped even better at 5/8. I had scoped it witth a Leupold VX 2 3x9x40 and was good to go. I had also put a libsaver on it.

Hello Africa. My Ruger 77 tang safety 338 was my go to rifle for years and it was my main rifle there as well. It shot 1/2 on any given day. As circumstance would have it, my PH's scope failed andI suggested he use my T3 which he had shot when we first sighted in. It was in his possesion the rest of the hunt and he loved it. He insisted I shoot my last animal, a gemsbok, with it. His reason was that I had brought it all the way to Africa, I had to shoot something with it.

I did and it cemented a positive attitude with the rifle. It and not the Ruger is now my go to rifle. I am shooting 165 gr Hornady now with the same load and group size and point of impact. Bear, deer and cottontail have all been taken cleanly with head shots.

They are not cheap now, but If I was to buy a rifle again it would be the tikka that got the first look.

I bought a hunter T3 in 6.5 swede this fall and love the gun, stupidly accurate and comes up right. I dumped my buck this year wth one shot at 258 yards paced off hand(I didn't realize it was that far)

how many people here have a tikka ?

what model
cal ect

what do you think of it

T3 Camo 270win
T3 Laminated Stainless 300wsm
T3 HB Varmit 22-250
And I Love Them All!!:D

Does anybody know what kinda head is on screws to remove the recoil pads on the T3's???
Cant see in them lil holes. Would it be philips heads or wah???

A few years ago I purchased a Tikka T-3 in 223.

After roughly 10,000 rounds and an eroded throat later this baby still shoots well enough as a varminter. Under 1"M0A on any given day and is not fussy if clean or very used.

I would buy another tomorrow. As soon as the bride says I can.

Tikka Hunter that was originally in 6.5x55. I bought it at a gunshow for $500. Shot good groups right away, and took several deer with it, but I had it rechambered to 6.5-06 for some added velocity. I've been shooting 130 grain Accubonds at 3000 fps and 3/4 inch groups. Shot a decent whitetail buck this year out of it's bed at 180 yards holding offhand.
I then acquired a Stainless Synthetic 30-06 a couple weeks ago off the EE. I only had it for about 24 hours [didn't shoot it] and someone scooped it away from me in a trade.
If I can find another T3 in 6.5x55 in the SS at a good price, then I'll probably grab it!
