Tikka T1X MTR .22LR WAS on sale until Jan. 4, 2023

I used to use a 64 MSR similar to the above photo and it was a fantastic shooter. Sold that to a fellow in the Maritimes and bought a 2013.
Confirming my purchase of a T1X from Bullseye. Waiting for the tracking number.
It will join a fleet of other Tikkas (222,243,308) plus an Annie 2013, 1710 HB and a CZ 455. Having the other Tikkas means I have options for stocks as I have wood (Monte Carlo), Cadex, and GRS stocks floating around my fleet as needed. Glad to hear it is not particular on the ammo so quite excited to try it out.
 
I got in under the wire and purchase one for my wife. She really enjoyed shooting mine. So I figured that I would get her one and after some searching I was able to locate a T3X stainless in 223 for myself.

Too bad that you sold your Model 64. I hope that your 2013 is even better than it was.

I shot a friend's Anschutz Model 64 Silhouette about 20 years ago and it was probably the most accurate .22LR that I've ever shot, too.

My only complaint with it is that I could never find a left-handed one. Otherwise, it would probably be my main squeeze.

I wish I had that stock. Not a huge fan of the modified one on it, but it shoots well. Been doing well in the cold with mine. Just wasn't in the market for a magazine fed 22LR, or I might have considered the T1X. Not many options for sub 700$ rifles with peeps. As I want to dab in open sight shooting a bit
 
My Tikka mags have been flawless, CZ mags have been a crapshoot.
Making a bottom metal that takes CZ mags would be a downgrade.

Also getting an ARCA rail on the front of the factory Tikka stock is dead easy. I used a universal slotted one from Amazon, $30.

^agreed. My CZ polymer mags have run very well, the CZ steel mags=the odd one won't function properly. My take is that the odd one is made out of spec. I've had FTF and on removing the mag, see that the follower (or the rounds sitting on it) have jammed/not advanced upwards. A quick tap and the follower/remaining rounds pop-up into position.

No issues at all with the T1x mags. I've had the odd FTF with flatnose SK, but because they're flat/truncated bullets. No other round hangs-up. Very happy to learn about the 15rd. aluminum mags. I see those are sold-out, but I'm watching. :)

I have one of the Mountain Tactical ones on my T3x CTR originally and it made its way over to the T1X for now. All I need is another beavertail forend and the rifles will be identical.

Anschutz has some of the fugliest stocks that I have ever seen in my life. Most of them look like something out of a sci-fi movie.

The Model 64 Silhouette was the first one I ever saw that I actually liked.

Too bad it was a righty. It was rather awkward to shoot left-handed.

That's nice to hear, but how well do T1X mags handle exposure to solvents, extremes of temperature, or rough handling?

I've never had anything that was made out of plastic be able to stand up to much abuse. I typically try to baby everything that I own, but the best laid plans of mice and men sometimes go sideways.

As for a CZ compatible triggerguard being a downgrade, if it works flawlessly, then it's a real bonus for me.

I have lots of CZ 5 and 10 rounders. It would be nice not having to buy more of another type.
 
I liked the 64 MSR shape also. Love the BR50 stocks. Disappointed in the 1710 stock but put it in a GRS and that solved the issue.
The Tikka's have lots of options for stocks and looking forward to that flexibility to change it up for a particular use - bench or gopher.

I have a 64 Silhouette. But I wish I had the traditional stock. I bought this 64 with a modifed stock. But shoots well, so that's all that matters.

I'm envious that you have an Anschutz. I hope that you're happy with it! I don't think I'll ever bother buying one now unless a mint, LH 64 MSR drops into my lap.

I'm going to try to match my T3X CTR setup as much as possible with my T1X.

I want it to be a low cost practice rifle to complement it's big brother.

Honestly the best way to do it. I have two Yodave trigger springs to install (one in each) but its the exact same fit as far as shouldering goes when you build them like this. I highly recommend. Just waiting on a beavertail and ARCA rail for the t3x so I dont have to keep swapping them back and forth.

I have a Tikka wood stock for a T3X 222 rem project being built but the T1X may spend some time in it. Found this on EE. Pays to keep an eye peeled.

Honestly the best way to do it. I have two Yodave trigger springs to install (one in each) but its the exact same fit as far as shouldering goes when you build them like this. I highly recommend. Just waiting on a beavertail and ARCA rail for the t3x so I dont have to keep swapping them back and forth.

I guess it stands out, so the previous owner must be happy it still being used.

Probably the only way they can figure and understand their designs.
