I am wondering if anyone has any idea if the Tikka t3 will become available again in 9.3x62?
I suddenly have a hankering for a stainless 9.3x62 and Tikka seems to be the only one that I am aware of

I was in the same boat as you a few months ago, I ended up buying a stainless Rem 700 in 30-06 and sent it out to Ron Smith for a rebore to 9.3x62, he cut and crowned to 20" and I threw it into a Boyd's stock, I have about 1000$ into it.

He's in Alberta, probably should expect 3-6 month wait depending how busy he is and how he is feeling, I'm happy with the outcome, short and handy. About 7.5lbs scoped, a good synthetic would lighten it up but I like the look and feel of the laminate for the purpose of this rifle.

I have a Zastava take off barrel in 9.3x62 that I was going to put on a Brno Model 600 (same receiver metric threads) or my Zastava 30-06 but just could not wait. I found a Zastava in 9.3 on the nuts and bought it. Love it. when you shoot at those plywood backed targets at 100 meters with the .286 Partitions you can see the wood fly in your scope. It really kicks and I think it needs a Packmeyer decelerator pad but I love it. If you guys are looking a barrel post me.

Sorry max, don't mean to troll, but you bought a stainless rem 700 for $600, then you sold the stock for a price of a Boyd's laminate (around $200) and then you aren't including the cost of the scope and rings for your all in price?

I had Ron rebore mine as well, was almost a year and a dozen phone calls to see when he would be done. I'm glad he got it done, but it definitely was not 3-6 months.

Having said that, did you go with gain twist or just straight twist? He does do good work I figure

The rifle was a SPS that I bought for 600$. The stock was a take off from a gun I bought and sold, I made money off that gun and shelfed the stock. I didn't include the scope price because optic choice is very personal and doesn't reflect the cost to get this done, if I would have included the price of the scope and it happened to be wearing a very high end target scope it wouldn't be fair to tell everyone that it cost me 5000$ to get this rig built, plus the OP would be faced with that expense with a Tikka or any other rifle he chooses. The beauty of using the Rem 700 is that there is all kind of options out there, a guy could buy a 400$ ADL and use the original stock or a guy could buy a Rem 700 Ti and a McMillan.

I sent my rifle to Ron around Jan 20th and had it back the last week of March but the lead time he told me to expect was much longer but he said things were getting caught up after falling way behind when his wife had a health issue a while back.

7.5 lbs is a nice light Wagner. Mine is 7lb 11oz loaded with a leather sling (irons, no scope). It's not much fun off the bench but it's a dandy to carry.

My M98 in 9.3X62 came in at about $1000:

Interarms M98 with shot out barrel: $400
New ER Shaw barrel from Trades 26" 1:13 twist - $300
Boyds Stock - $200
Gunsmithing - $100

Max, you spent your money pretty efficiently there then, I got mine with gain twist as well, I'm interested to see what I can get for velocities with my fairly short barrel and 260-270 grain reloads in the future, i suspect yours will perform well too.

I just bought a Sauer s100 classic xt for $799 plus tax and shipping. Not stainless but I like it more than a tikka. I'm not sure how much it would cost to cerokote a rifle but that's an option

I remember seeing a 9.3x62 tikka stainless. Could have been prophet river or epps
