I am looking at selling off two or three of my rifles and just buying one.
I am looking at either a Tikka T3 Laminated SS or the A Bolt gold Medallion

Which one??

I recommend the Tikka T3.
Todays Browning sure ain't up to Grampa's sorry to say.
My Tikka is Lite, slick, and accurate and the price is also lite.
Doc.

I am a Tikka man but I would go for the X bolt gold medallion, not the A bolt. Browning finally made a clip that works nice. I just bought a Tikka Varmint in 7mm mag but wish I would have got the Xbolt instead, just for the looks, not necessarily the accuracy. If you bought one in each calibre you would have a nice rack of hunting rifles.

Tikka; from the silky action, to the glass-like trigger, finishing with the accuracy. I wanted the laminate, but guns are something I don't like waiting for on backorder so I skipped out for the Lite. To my loss, I hear that laminate in some way absorbs the recoil. I've never actually shot a rifle with a laminate stock, so I can't say its true.

I've owned both, and both have strong points.
The brownings I've owned, (A bolt and A bolt micro-medallion) , both had super wood stocks. Finish was among the best I've ever seen on an out-of-the-box rifle. The actions are bedded from the factory, and the triggers were awesome. Not a huge fan of magazines that can't be fed from the top, but there was no denying the fact that the mags were hard to lose.
The tikka's , although a lot more "utilitarian" in the looks department, shot just as well. The bolts were the smoothest I've ever flung forwards and backwards. It shot great, and was reasonably priced. The stock weren't flimsy either(synthetic), but , like all other synthetics, too light for most bigger calibers.
The heavier laminates only reduce recoil because they take more force to send backwards, therefore, soaking up some of it on its way to your shoulder.
I truly didn't like the browning offerings for many years................until I actually held one. I immediately forgot why I had something against them. My vote for this is:
Browning>Tikka
The feeling of quality just oozes off the brownings. I can't quite describe it. Just the most well feeling, solidly put together rifles I've ever owned/shot. Haven't held an X Bolt, but they look sharp, and I can't imagine them shooting poorly...........but I need another safe first, before I need any more rifles.

I have both and I would go with the Browning. The fit and finish is way above the Tikka and mine shoot just as good as the Tikka (both shoot better than I can):)

Myself I avoided the Brownings of any model for years. Well I recently purchased a Micro Hunter in 22 Hornet (slightly frustrating calibre to handload, as Ive been downright spoiled with a 222, but that's my burden) But overall I'm very happy with this rifle. I recently held a carbon fibre X-Bolt and I must say I was impressed with it's lively feel & balance.

I don't have any opinion, good or bad about the Tikka rifle line. No personal experience.

Given choice... Tikka all the way...In the last 10 years Browning lost a lot of ground in quality control, as a occasionnal range officer i noticed... JP.

I own both an A-bolt and T3 synthetic. I like both rifles and they both shoot really good. Although the more I seem to shoot my T3 the better it shoots, constantly keeps surprising me how just about every reload I feed it, With the good groups being 0.65" (5 shot group). Either way they are both good guns.

Put that aside i am a passionate hunter and shooter, rifles are my favorites weapons and i will never stop buying more, i am ordering TC Icon Wheatershield 308 this week... JP.
