Looks to me they're copying the Browning Hell's Canyon Speed. The Tikka I've been toying with getting is the T3X Battue in .308win with Nikon Monarch 3 1-4x20 using Leupold PRW/QRW bases with a set of QRW rings.

I thought the beauty of the Tikka were the bland look------ tough enough, light enough, affordable and in its element, in the elements.

i still have my 9.3x62mm T3, its the old blued model, i really like the look of a all stealth black coloured rifle- i had the Stainless 308 an the barrel stood out so much in early mornin or dark gulleys so i made sure my next was a Blued one...

I bet that's what it's meant to compete with. I've heard browning is selling a lot of the hells canyon's.

I like that stainless cerakote, don't worry about rust, don't have a shiny rifle reflecting along the horizon in the sun at first or last light.

Edit: and at 6.2 pounds, and about $1500 it falls into competition with a different class of rifle perhaps. To bad there wasn't a few more calibers available.

Browning was selling so many Hells Canyons they couldn’t keep up with the demand for awhile. People were buying whatever caliber they had in stock. 28 Noslers were selling as well as 7mm. Even small calibers like .243 didn’t last more than a couple days before it was sold. I don’t see what people like so much about the rifle but even Christensen Arms copied the style with their Mesa Burnt Bronze and even that rifle sells without much effort. Even more so now that people are learning you can convert them to take Magpul 700 mags.

Yeah. For my climate it means never having to worry about corrosion. Some will argue that stainless still needs it along the coast, but I like being able to neglect everything but the bore/bolt/feedpath.

My main hunting rifle is a LH full walnut stock blued rifle, and I love it, but if I were to buy something like a lever .357 or .44 I'd prefer to find one in SS, and maybe get it painted/coated later if it were to be used for hunting more than plinking.
