I don't need or want a brake. .355" at 100m for five shots. My average five shot group is sub 1/2moa.

8 shots .246" I'm keeping the brake
Yes i know i have to doal in the scope better, hence the sighter But there are 8 holes in that 'large' group. My groups were similar in size to yours until I added the brake. Now the rifle shoots almost anything well. and it's pet load is exceptional

I have two 308 CTR stainless 20" : 168 A-Max seems to work well. 0.25-0.5 MOA , Sako match 168 work extremely well, Federal 175 match were very good, Hornady 168 bthp match ammo was also very good.
Pictures of the Hornady BTHP 168 Match factory ammo from two CTR's on different days. I prefer a few three shot groups (100m) over 5 or ten. I am not a target shooter. One of the CTR's is my main hunting rifle and has dropped about 40 deer in the last two years ranging from 30yds to 600yds. Fantastic rifles, mine sit in custom stocks.

Tikka arrived. It is much lighter than any of my other guns.....ok my .22 is lighted but that is it. I find it balances well. That being said Corlane's will end up fluting it and threading it. Before it leave the shop it will have the trigger adjusted and the action/barrel glass bedded. Monday I find out if I am putting a Bushnell Forge 3-18 or the Leupold VX 5hd 3-15 on it. Talley rings will be used to mount it.

I have the Forge 2.5-15x50 SFP and Vx5 3-15x44 - both great scopes. If you don't mind the extra weight of the Bushnell, it's a great option and less $ than the Leupold. More of a tacticool scope too. Glass is pretty similar in both, the Bushnell has great adjustments

Recently picked up a ctr in .308. The mags are the only reason I tried the tikka, as I can't stand the regular t3 mags. They are still only $50 mags that sell for $180 better than than the 5$ regular t3 mags that sell for 100.
There is a sale on the Bushnells right now which will make it $200 less that the retail price. The long term plan is to put the gun in a different stock if I like target shooting. If not, I have an easy to carry and easy to use gun that didn't cost me a fortune.
I agree the mags are crappy but the new stock will give me a ton of options. The heavy barrel and not having to order a stainless CTR from the states is the main reason I went down the road I did. Plus with Corlane's 20 minutes from my door step the gun can be whatever I want it to be.

Why would you have to order a Stainless CTR from the states? I bought my stainless CTR from Prairie Gun Traders.
