I can't decide...
14 minutes after I posted my wts add I get an "I'll take it" on the WG.
Not surprised,it's a good deal.
Then this am because there is no RCMP tracking letter the clown backs out.
Says "proper documentation", like an RCMP letter makes a bit of difference in the real word.
Says I have to get a letter or wait for him to...ya right...next!
How does the Government brainwash these idiots into thinking this crap is required?

200 prospective buyers have seen the SPF in the meantime.
What kind of douche do you have to be to pull that crap?
Just wanting to be a hero for a few hours?
Sobered up and realized the piggy bank won't cover it?
Honestly think that an RCMP letter is required?

At least he didn't buy it,break it and then return it a week later like another douche bag here...

why do people behave like that...what happened to honor...and intelligence?

OK rant over...and the WG is back up! :D

I never understood why people don't honour the "I'll take it!" I wish it was like ebay and saying I'll take it was like signing a contract, then maybe these dreamers would think twice before saying they'll buy it.

I agree 'I'll take it' is your word. It should be honored. When it comes to doing the right thing gunnutz aint too far off the general population. You got the kind you could trust with your life and then the other 80 percent that you could trust to do what is good for them. Use to be that 'I'll take it" went in the thread for all to see. Only thing worse then the I'll take/back out is the "i'll take it" and then negotiate arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

On the constructive criticism side of things I never stop getting aggravated by sellers who describe bores as "typical black powder". Means nothing and seems kind of a sneaky way to say pitted to crap. Also insulting to the previous owners of BP guns who kept the bores shiny and crisp despite the salts.
There is no such thing as a typical BP bore. To be honest I was interested in that WG but never bothered to send a PM cause of the bore description.

Maybe the buyer backed out using ze document excuse when they figured out that the description included rough or pitted bore? It still would'nt be right but not everyone is great at reading for meaning.

Either way you got some very nice guns up for sale. The WG even if it needed to be lined is a very desirable gun. That .476 chamber is priceless. Hard to believe the MEtro has'nt sold yet that would be a very fun collectible.

Good luck on your sales, can't wait to see what the replacement gun is?

David,
I appreciate the heads up on the "typical black powder bore" description.
I picked it up along the way and didn't realize it "seems kind of a sneaky way to say pitted to crap"
Sneaky I'm not and have changed the description to be...not sneaky? lol

I guess I don't put spf anymore...just let folks inquire until the money is in hand, then put sold...

and yea the Metro is a beaut.other than some finish loss it's a great piece...I've been kinda wafflin on selling it and might post a .380 instead...putting funds together for a long arm

Noob

In my experience it's usually some Noob who just signed up. Their profile looks something like this:

Total Post: 0
Posts Per Day: 0

Trader rating: 0

I am leary of dealing with these guys, I always get full name, address, and phone # first.

I look at stats before I even reply...TR especially

This fella has 100% TR that's double his post count...

I'm not gonna ruin his TR over it,that's not my style.

I'll just gripe a bit til I get over it :D

it just baffles me...why not say "I'll take it if" ...gets you a spot in line and time to ask questions.

I dont mark spf anymore only mark sold when I have coin in hand. for the most part I have been lucky with the people i have dealt with. I uasally mark "payment with in 48 hours" in the ad. if I havent received it by then and some one else wants what is in the ad I tell them there is an interested party no response i apologize and let the next guy with coin in hand take it. by the same token if I say "I will take it" payment is swift same hour of response or later in the evening when I get in. sounds harsh to some, but if I am selling something I really want the money not a hastle.
just my 2 cents

Look on the bright side...at least he backed out quick. It's worse when you're waiting four days for an emt and start a thread asking if that's too long to wait, and get flamed.....;)

I have been in your exact shoes.
Had an item on the EE. Perspective Buyer gives "The I'll take it" but comments that they are away on business and can't send funds until they return in three days. (No EMT for this buyer)
I agree that this is OK and proceed to update the ad as SPF.

Long story short. Never heard from buyer again. After countless PM's I gave up. I don't recall how many views I had after the SPF was listed, but it was in the hundreds.

I still sold the item. But, what a pain in the a$$.

My advice is never update the ad until the deal is 100% official.

My 0.02¢

Re: Tirekicker , Drunk or Hust plain ignorant .

I Just log on to read what message I got from this fellow about this deal and found out here that he has already started a big discussion . I am posting the messages took place between me and brother Dale . I never said that I am not buying this firearm . I still don't understand what is this all about . I was going to pay this guy over 1500 dollars without even asking or knowing the serial number or antique status letter of this firearm. Give me a break . I currently own 2 Webley Mark III and 2 Webley Mark II revolvers . Before I took possesion of these revolvers I called RCMP and get the antique status letters . It doesn't cost anything just a phone call and info about the firearm . The antique status letter clearly say that . " It is recommended that you reatain this letter with the antique firearm as confirmation of its status ." Here are the messages between me and Him . Read from bottom to top .

me too

Last year was going to buy a bulldog from the brother, asked about condition, basically got told off blasted my low trader rating, still have his rant, and copy of EMT ready to send. It's a wonder some people are allowed potatoe guns the way there temper gets the better of them.

Now that everybody is coming out of the woods, I am the "douche bag" he mentions, should have left a negative for the brother as well.

Read his fine print and you know what I mean. What do you think "black powder bore" means?

He is very aggressive, be prepared!
