we need all the guns we can get in the country...and at that price point more folks will be able to buy them. I won't but will do what I can to ensure YOU can.

Thanks for your constructive addition to this thread. Have you written a letter to your MP about the new marking law? Because if it goes through we might ONLY have guns from China coming into Canada.

Why is that ?
Marking guns with a new serial number using laser etching costs 15$... Won't be a big problem

Tony B from CSSA told me that Remington flatly stated that any stamping or lasering of the reciever WILL VOID the warranty, as they (Rem) cannot control how much heat was applied after the gun left the factory.
Would you buy a brand new gun with no warranty?
I'll take an 8.5''... if the price is rightTony B from CSSA told me that Remington flatly stated that any stamping or lasering of the reciever WILL VOID the warranty, as they (Rem) cannot control how much heat was applied after the gun left the factory.

Remington sucks balls anyways. If they stopped importing their poorly made junk, they'd be doing Canadian gun owners a favor. And I wouldn't treat a statement made by some [most likely low level] Remington employee as representative of the way most gun makers feel about the issue. I'm fairly confident that most gun makers will adopt a far more reasonable approach.Tony B from CSSA told me that Remington flatly stated that any stamping or lasering of the reciever WILL VOID the warranty, as they (Rem) cannot control how much heat was applied after the gun left the factory.
