In a hunting situation, the dust thown up by the break will give your position away to the game.
By the time the dust flys up the animal is lying on the ground anyway lol

Everyone is different, indeed. I can't shoot if the guy beside me has a certain kind of brake. It isn't the noise for me, it is the wind/concussion that pushes at me and moves paper around, I just sit and wait until it is over.Maybe it's a level of sensitivity I guess. Cause honestly with my peltors I'm listening to people shoot the breeze and everytime rifles go off next to me I don't even notice it at all. Yes I do feel the concussion smack me in the face. But I can shoot through it without too much issue. I don't double up either. I take my peltors off after and I don't have any sensitivity after a whole day of guns going off. Everyone is different I guess.

Ok I'm maybe 20' away or more. But still these are all AR with brakes and 5-6 of them banging away at same time. I don't notice the noise at all. Maybe I'm already deaf. This could be the answer.
