Years ago I had a Mossberg 500 .410 , one of those guns that I regretted selling. Bought another one and the wife shot her first grouse with it last year. My son will get to shoot it in a couple of years. I'd carry it myself for birds, even have threatened to take it pheasant hunting.
It really is worth loading .410 shells, they are very expensive considering they average 1/2 oz loads. I picked up a used MEC junior too, makes it more affordable.
Another option is to buy a chamber adapter from Tradex(site sponsor) and use it in a break action 12 gauge. I want to shoot some gophers with my coachgun!
