Guys keep saying "rechamber" to 257 or 6.5X55. Not so easy. I know we know this, but to convert to a larger bore is either a rebore job or a rebarrel. And a good rebarrel with custom contour and bluing will run $750 plus.

Rick, I have gotten my friend Ron Smith to rebore for me, and it is a bit more than 1/4 of the price you have there for a rebarrel.

I am not so sure 6,5x55 would work as the shoulder MIGHT be farther back than the parent chamber already has.

Weight with the scope on is 8 1/2lbs roughly, perhaps just a tad more.
