Hi folks,

Have been thinking about finding one of these for a while. Think I'm happy with this one. A few scratches, but nothing major. And, it bears a really nice and clean "RCAF" stamp. Even if my picture of it is blurry! :) Next to this mark, there's another one, a large "C" with a "W" in it. Anyone knows what that means?

Now, if anyone knows someone who has a peep sight to sell... well I can dream, can't I.

It is the War Assets mark. It is upside down, but if you look closely the W is superimposed over the A. Basically the W has a - through the middle making the center of the W an A.

First time I have seen that on a Cooey 82. The RCAF stamp is also a nice touch.

I have one or two of those peep sites hiding in the drawers downstairs. I could part with one, but the packrat in me says they will stay where they are.

I have never seen the serial number stamped into the side of the stock on an 82. All I have seen have been on the bottom of the pistol grip. Of course I haven't seen every one.

I have 2 complete rifles and one barreled receiver but only 1 peepsite.

serial numbers seemed to be stamped into the stock on the heal of the pistol grip.

nice looking one there lou.

on and PS nice chicken coop ;)

Nice rifle Lou! On the EOSC website check out the "Cooey Challenge". It takes place on Sept 20 the day after the Milsurp match, if you can make it to the club 2 days in a row ;)

Awesome Lou! I picked up a distressed Cooey 75 in Eganville a couple of weeks ago, gave it a little makeover, and now it shoots better than my first Cooey that I have lovingly cared for since I got it 43 years ago. Apparently they gain accuracy if you use them to prop open the barn door in the rain for a few years. Who knew?

Anybody know a good replacement rear sight for these? Have one that is missing it. Not looking for a direct replacement, just something that will let me shoot the rifle.

I have a nice 82. I also have a friend who provided me with the correct aperture site. I have not mounted it yet. My question is- was the open site removed when the aperture site was installed. I've had both for a number of years and just never got around to doing it. Maybe it's time.

Strangely enough I shot mine today. It is one of my favorite trainers. I have a range set up behind my barn and who ever shoots it always likes it. Probably the most accurate trainer I have (even beats my martini trainer). I think The 82 cooey is under rated.
