Tokarev TT-33 ordered from Kelly's Sporting Goods

Got mine today! Some minor crate rub and small nicks but this beauty is 59 years old. Can't wait to see how rough I am when I'm 59!! :D
Can't wait to take it out to the range and get some target shooting in with it.

quick question , if i was to make these a safe queen would it be better to clean and oil or leave cosmo gunk thats on them and what would be say the best" long term storage, cover in grease or oil or just take them out and clean and oil every 6 months.... wanted to keep new" as i have other tok's to shoot.

Krown rustproofing sells their gunk in a spray can. For longer term storage I would spay a gun with that, inside and out. It need repeating about every 2 years.

My father in law is a jeweller and he leaves all his old steel moulds, castings and other steel tools in an old, steel tool box, fully emersed in motor oil in his unheated, detached garage. My wife says they've been in there since the mid 1990's. They look as good as new.

I've been thinking I might just throw a few of mine in my ultrasonic cleaner, do a visual inspection, dunk it in a pail of motor oil, then seal them in a mylar bag with a de-humidifier and oxygen absorber.

Remember to remove the grips and package them separately

The motor oil will drain downward over time, your father's way worked because the oil did not drain away.
Cosmoline works for long term storage because it stays in place.

Mine arrived today. About 10 days from order to delivery.

It is flawless. Not a mark of any kind. barrel is pristine. trigger is crisp. I am very pleased. Thank you mr. Kelly.

Very nice! Did it move up at all on your list as a potential first handgun?

When I ordered mine over the phone, I said it would be cool to have a 1952 pistol (birth year) I open the case and there lay a pristine 1952 TT33. Outstanding service!!
Yep, they got me a 1955 for the same reason, beautiful gun! By the way LOOPY, I am older than dirt,,, but your older than me!! ;0)

Damn you all and your sweet sweet tok's..... It's harder and harder to not order one every time I read this thread and see the pictures of these beauty's.

Well, let's see if those pristine Toks are doing well at the range , look is one thing, shoot with no jam each mag is another thing, i don't mind having a scratch Tok who works just flawless

I probably wouldn't care TOO much if I got one with a bad mag, or scratches or whatever. I would enjoy staring at it just as much as shooting it i think.

Wow! Nice camera work -- I thought I was looking at a flashlight attachment.

For possible future use, what kind of camera did you use? (My only camera is a thirty-seven-year-old Canon AE1 SLR that I haven't used in twenty years. d:h:)

Thanks!
Just a plain old Panasonic Lumix TS4 "tough/waterproof point and shoot" camera. Played around with macro mode and the lighting.
