Nothing spectacular. It has been 11 years since I was hunting last (long story...). Shot a whitetail doe for meat. Though I had it at the range this year I am happy my old Savage was bang on where I wanted it to shoot. A 220 yard shot and I am as pleased that I took her quick and clean as having meat in the freezer.
I had been hunting for elk for the first time on this trip, but no luck. We saw lots of deer and I learned alot about hunting in two days. I hiked some of the most beautiful countryside that Alberta has to offer. As well I met some of the friendliest, most hospitable, and interesting people as ever. I hunted with a guy from my work that I hope will be a long term hunting buddy. At the end of it all, it was a truly great trip. My wife asked me what the best part of the trip was and I told her "just going hunting."
