I don't play it because of the attitude,
I'd rather shoot and have fun with other shooters than be constantly told I know nothing... like this thread is doing. Good day IPSC'rs!Edit: The "illegal mod" I was referring to (the DPM recoil reducer) was just to have the gun perform on your own time. Did I state to use the mod and run it in PRODUCTION class? Yeah, I know production means untouched and production... hence the name of the class. This just makes me glad I still decide to not shoot IPSC. Too hard to get see the targets for all the ego's and silliness.

no one ever has fun at ipsc matches, we all just stand around and pontificate, every now and then we tell IDPA jokes and kick dirt on infants while we brag about how we need to refinance our homes to get our new guns.
The questions tone could be considered harsh, but since the OP was looking for input from the evil ipsc people, your comment as to the shadow being a flat shooting gun when you add an illegal guide rod wasn't of much use. Yes Adam likes them but he isn't relavent anymore, hasn't been for a few years.

I second RPIcka's idea. Silly that people can't give opinions when asked for them without getting beat up for it. Partly why I stay off the forums too...

saying a production gun is a great choice for production when you make it an open gun isn't much help, then crying foul when called on it was rather funny too

I didn't say mod it and run it in production... did I? I said you COULD make the gun perform better... Kind of like meaning he could make the gun even better than it already is to shoot on his own time or advance in class... Man, you IPSCr's are really... Yeah, pieces of work. Semantics...
back to the topic on hand, don't worry about revos since we treat them like leppers. production is so turn of the century, classic is the new production, production is the new revo and revo is well, see the fist line. shoot as many guns can from each division then go with what you like

I will agree with that. Shooting them and finding what you like is more important than having the newest best seller on the block... Which is what I said in my first post. 8[

too clear up my preious comment, i choose to kick dirt on stray puppies and kittens rather than infants. Not due to any moral objections, just the lack of stray infants at the ranges I frequent. hey look at that, time for my meds, anybody want to go ride bikes

I feel sorry for you if you're still honestly grasping at straws and trying to get the upper hand here... plus your childish comments are funny. I do know some decent guys that shoot IPSC. You, sir, are not one of them. You're a douche.
Knowing that the Shadow is a clear favorite for production IPSC means I know nothing about IPSC? Lol, flame on some where else dude... I don't need to list anything I've done to anyone, what I qualify for or how well I shoot to state my opinion about a gun and give some feedback.

I think you are wrong on this so called IPSC attitude crap. I have yet to see these peolpe in my travels. Maybe you have a local problem or you create the problem. I'd say get off your a$$ and register for the Nationals, people from all over Canada,the States, ect having a good time.

It wasn't an error... It was me stating the gun could be taken further than it sits in production standards. Sheesh...
and by taking it "further" you put it into a place where it is at a massive disadvantage, ie not in production. good thing i'm board and can't sleep other wise I'd have left a while ago.
to summerize, this gun is great for production, and if you put a dpms guide rod into it, you turn a great production gun into a crappy non-production gun. seems like a great idea to me. adding a comp would help with recoil too.
