I suppose it's just the engineer in me, but I'd like to know exactly what torque setting it is fastened to especially if the manufacturer gives a recommended torque setting. I rather spend 120$ more on a tool to assemble a 500$ mount and a 4000$ dollar scope, a screwdriver isn't going to cut it.
Simple is good and tight with a normal screwdriver... and it works.
A whole new industry has developed supplying torque drivers we don't really need...

50 years ago today's torque settings for bases and ring screws didn't exist... and good and tight worked fine... it still does..
