Torture Test! Sig Legion P226 vs Rex Zero 1

"phew" i'm glad to see there wasn't any damaging torture testing involved here. I really didn't want to see anyone abuse a sig legion! - like throwing it against a brick wall, or driving over it with a dump truck and seeing if it will shoot after!

Note to Self!

Don't wallow like a pig whilst wearing your Sig!

From a Canuck civy perspective, not really a relevant test. It would be interesting to see how both pistols group from a Ransom rest. I would suspect the Zero-1 is a bit looser fit. That said, Sig markets the Legion series as an "Operator's" gun where going bang reliably might be fairly relevant ;-)

I do wonder why he picked the Legion? I doubt Bruce Gray does over-the-beach testing on his triggers.

Judging from the Arex website, this Rex Zero would be more comparable to a P226 MK25.

I just bought a 226 Legion, kinda sad that it failed so easily...:(

Thankfully I'm not putting it through this kind of torture while shooting it lmao.

The Rex has a lot going for it, especially for the price point. Their manufacturing facility is top-notch, as well; new, high-end machinery.

Seems like Tim was pretty disappointed with the SIG's result, too.

MAC is going to be trying to knock out similar videos on a regular basis testing other similar pistols. I also asked if he would be doing the same thing with rifles (AK vs VZ) etc too. Lets see what happens.

He has an instagram video. The P226 rattles and the Rex doesn't. He doesn't take them apart and put micrometers to them, if that's what you're getting at.

Yup, that's exactly what I'm getting at. Unless you actually measure the frame to slide fit, you're not in the position to honestly make a statement about it.

From a technical (statistical) viewpoint, a test that is based on one individual from population A vs. one individual from population B, offers no hard evidence about the superiority/inferiority of either population. That would require a RANDOM sample of sufficient size.

From a real world viewpoint, I think the Legion series is more about brilliant marketing than brilliant design/execution, and the Rex seems like a good deal to me. What I take issue with is the weight given to this one test by some.

If the CBC polled one Muslim cleric, and one Catholic priest about their views on the imposition of Sharia law, and said Canadians are evenly divided on the subject, I'd take it with a huge grain of salt.

I take the video, and the comments about it with a big grain of sand.
