Hello fellow gun nutz.

I am in the market, and have held both. The G48 fits my hand the best, but it feels... very light.
The G19X was a little large in my grip, but I think I could manage the recoil better.

I plan on shooting three gun this summer, and would be using it to shoot paper at my local range.

What do you suggest.
 
I own both, and the G48 has the MOS option available now, which I think gives it the edge? if the grip isn't an issue, then that's one thing to consider. Hopefully the G45 MOS will be out by the end of the year? Cheers
 
I found the G48 to be a little snappier shooting than the G19, if that's a concern for you. It might be an issue for competition purposes.

I personally do not care for the all brown G19X and would prefer the G45 version, buts that's personal preference.
 
I owned both and preferred the 48. You can always add a hogue sleeve if you feel the grip is too small. I have had sellers remorse since I sold the the 48. I am currently looking at the 48MOS.
 
There is quite a difference in size between those 2 pistols.
The 19x is pretty much full duty size sidearm. And the G48 is a slender small gun designed for concealment.
I have small hands and the G48 fits them well but my G17(19x length grip) and 19 have less recoil and are a bit easier to shoot fast.
If I was shooting 3 gun and wasn’t worried about needing a small gun then I’d get a bigger model then the G48.

I’ve been shooting the G48 MOS with a Holosun and streamlight Tlr7 a lot lately and it really is quite a capable stand in for a full size wonder nine but it’s just too small to ever quite match up for shootability.

If we didn't have magazine restrictions I'd say go with the G19; but we do, so go with the G48. Personally, I love the G48...it's my Goldie Locks Glock.
 
You want it to be as compact as possible? (That makes it easy.) A G48. You want it to be competitive? (That makes it easy.) If the rules allow the G34, then the Gen5 G34. You want a compromise? (That makes it easy.) A G19.

The G34 felt weird, very odd balance with the longer slide.
The G19x grip felt ok, but it was a little large.
I'm leaning toward the G48, or if they come out in time, the G45.
 
Both are great guns, one thing to consider is if you are going to shoot 3 gun in the USA as well. If so with the G19 you can use normal capacity mags in the States.
 
If 3gun competition is your quest, a bigger & longer barrel will give you an advantage for longer pistol targets. The G48 can be a little snappy because its light but has the same barrel length as the 19X. Both have the same 9mm capacity.
If you like the Glock platform go for the gen5 G34. Great factory trigger, better sight pic that either the 19X & 48, adjustable rear sight, 5.25” barrel, & uses standard doublestack Glock 9mm mags. Buy the MOS version lets you upgrade to a red dot later.

Did you get to shoot the G34 though? Or just handle it? If you want a competitive edge, the G34 is it for sure. Most will find that it shoots flatter and the longer sight radius really helps with accuracy.

But honestly you'd have a blast 3-gunning with any of these options, so if you're just out to have fun pick whichever one gets you most fired up. If you decide you want to be real serious about it in the future, you can get gamey about it then, with minimal loss reselling this pistol.

I'd also check availability of holsters, but hopefully a non issue.

I'm going to Florida Friday for two weeks, I'm hoping to visit a range with all three options.

Worst case ontario, I can use my 1911 for three gun.

If the grip of the 19X was a little large the G45 will be the exact same just not peanut butter coloured, the 19X and 45 are almost identical besides slight differences in the magwell area/mag basepads, color and front slide serations vs no front slide serations

Personally a 48 only has the cool small conceal carry pistol factor for me, they do not fill my hand enough compared to full size griped Glocks or even a Glock 19 grip. If I wanted something to shoot accurately easier and or compete in something like IDPA it would definatley be the 19X or any of my other double stack magzine griped Glocks, over a 48.

Same reason for me personally my first step into the 1911 platform I went with a 2011, the bigger grips just feel more natural and easier to shoot in my hands

That being said if the glove fits.....wear it.....Get what feels better in your hands, if you have the luxury to try shooting them before buying even better
