tough to say goodbye

It's terribly hard to let go. My condolences to you on the loss of a wonderful friend.

A Dog's Prayer.

If it should be that I grow weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won.
You will be sad, I understand;
Don't let your grief then stay your hand
For this day more than all the rest
Your love for me must stand the test
We've had so many happy years
What is to come can hold no fears,
You'd not want me to suffer so,
The time has come please let me go.
Take me where my need they'll tend
And please stay with me until the end,
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time that you will see,
The kindness that you did for me
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.
Please do not grieve, it must be you
Who has this painful thing to do,
We've been so close, we two, these years,
Don't let your heart hold back its tears.

It's never easy......

:(.... It's never easy, and it gets no better with practice. Cherish the fond memories, and console yourself with revisiting those good times, and consider that each Dog has only an allotted time with us, and just so long, to teach us compassion, loyalty, and how to experience Love in it's purest form. Thus, even in death, a loyal Dog has a lesson for us, that of letting go, when it's Time. .... David K :(

Chin up, he wouldn't want you to be sad for long. When we lost our Bamma girl, we spent 8 days without a dog, a pretty tough 8 days at that.

Now we have Nos & he's been keeping us on our toes for the last 1.5 years.

What's funny is that our Bamma girl didn't like puppies, but I'm sure she was laughing her a$$ off @ us 'dealing' with the antics of the new pup.

Chin up Popcan, chin up.

Regards
Jay

Sorry for your loss. Our friend had to put down his 14 year old Lab this week too. His dog was the mentor for my Lab in his first hunting season. My own is now nine and the years of pounding ice are beginning to show.
