Toz 8- Single Shot Rifles; Thoughts and Impressions...

On my toz 8m:
Just the post itself is 8mm.

Looks like you still have the original sight ramp. The top of the post is 9.5mm from the top of the sight ramp.

Thanks.

I decided to chisel away whatever they filled the front sight with. The original front post was still there and about 8mm tall. I can deal with the 1/2 round hood.

An odd modification for sure.
Yeah it was. It was about 10mm high. Was okay in bright light, sucked in the dark.

Being the muzzle was shortened like 1/8" inch, sight modded, re crowned and this name on the stock. I figure some shooting club.

I do have a full hood Toz sight. just the post needs to be shortened. As I drilled and tapped it, and made a new front sight, because I was using a different rear sight at the time. Then I just bought this gun.

If you decide that you would like the ring restored, I'm quite sure I could form a bit of flat steel the right thickness, then tig weld it on to the remaining ears and blend the surfaces with a little pencil grinder. I would charge you nothing. I swapped my sight for the globe sight I installed on my rifle, but have access to it for measurement. Should be easy enough.

Thanks, I'll keep you in mind.

Just gotta sand and reblue this sight.

Well, I have a few updates...

I got rid of the dirty shellac and now have a rather "blonde" stock finished with tung oil. The Aperture sight I got from OK shooter; I touched up the finish on it with E-Coat touch up paint pen. Front Globe sight. I also shot a ten shot group at 100 yards with the irons and was quite pleased with the group. All shots would hit a mid-sized ground-hog. LOL

The trigger is much better after I worked on reducing the spring a bit, but compared to my Brno, CZ, Zastava and even the Cooey, it needs more work.
