$350 usd + 25 shipping = $375
X 1.25 exchange = $468.75 CDN + $23.44 GST = $492.19 + shipping to your residence = approx $520.
At an at par dollar, it would be $393.75 plus local shipping. So about $420.
But the CDN USD is not at par.
And their are MP9 and Glocks for well under $800.
I want one. But it needs to be in the low 400s for me to bite.
I've seen you post the exact same post at least several times now. Your basis of comparison in terms of price is skewed to suit your argument. You're including shipping and tax on the TP9SA and then comparing that to the advertised price of other pistols without including those same shipping and taxes.
Furthermore, there's a difference in taxes one must take into account as well depending on where a person lives. Depending on a person's province of residence, you could be saving money on tax if you buy through IRG. IRG is only charging GST. If you live in a HST province like I do, you can come ahead here.
Yes, you can buy Glocks for well under $800 if you're looking at Gen3 models. Comparing guns with similar feature, a Gen4 Glock is definitely right there within a few dollars of $800. So, figure that one out. In my particular situation, I'd have to add shipping and 15% HST. That Gen4 Glock is going to be somewhere around $960 if you factor in $35 for shipping.
M&P's can be had in a range kit similar to the TP9SA for between $650-$690 and sometimes as low as $599. Still, factoring in the tax and shipping (for me at least) and the total cost is going to be at a bare minimum $730, if I can get in on a $599 deal.
You mention the exchange rate differences and that's fine because it has to be taken into consideration not only for US based purchases but also the rising cost of new dealer inventories, which will skew the difference even greater into the future as the old stock dries up.
