Tradex has a large selection of Schultz and Larson .22s again...

I actually left the range today and forgot to retrieve my targets. Don't usually forget.
Next time out, I'll take more ammo variety and the camera.

That would be great, thank you. Can you take some high quality shots of your rifle and post them? I'm very excited for mine and am trying to get as much info as I can before it arrives. Photos would help me get even more neurotic about the waiting. :)

More!

rust spot on barrel (cleaned up)

pits on bottom of barrel (hidden by stock)

pits at rear of receiver (hidden by stock)

barrel muzzle

trigger/sear mechanism

trigger/sear removed

top of trigger

action inletting

barrel inletting

Barrel stamp

Just because it's cool!!

A couple of little dings in the stock and some bluing wear and a few little scratches on the barrel. Other than that, it's excellent.
All I did to the stock when I cleaned the rifle up initially was to rub it with some Old English Lemon Oil.
I just might glass bed the front lug and action in the future.

Great job! Thanks for the pictures.

It's interesting that the front sight is cut into the barrel but on http://billard85.########.ca/2014/01/bonjour-tous-je-cree-ce-blog-pour-faire.html?m=1 all of his sights were pressed onto the end of the barrel.

I'm also surprised there's no crown cut into the end of the barrel.

How does it feel to snuggle up to?

The photo doesn't show it, but the muzzle is crowned, just a flat face on it. I was shooting off a front rest and a rear bunny bag. Felt good! The rifle's heavy enough that it doesn't even move when the round goes off. If it was set up with a scope, I'm certain that a guy could see the bullet holes appear in the target.
As to what type of wood it is.............................Going by the color, it certainly could be beech. All I'm certain of is that it's wood. LOL

My rifle is an M-58, non-adjustable trigger. It's been used enough that there's no perceptible pause between takng up the slack and the rifle firing. I just put my cheapo RCBS trigger-scale on it and get a reading of about 12 oz to fire the rifle.

I really like the sights. It came with a 3mm dia. front insert. I was using Shooting Federation of Canada 20 yard .22 sporting rifle targets.

12oz trigger....now that is nice!

Took butt plate off today to clean the rusty screws and found the butt filled with what looks like lead. Rubber butt plate had a space between it and the stock so I trimmed the metal smooth

I'm going to try and get out with one of my new ones tomorrow. Have some RWS, M22, Blazer, Minimag, and 333 to try out.

I bought one last fall and spent the winter cleaning it up heres a few pics. it had a hairline crack in the forestock which i fixed. I pillar bedded it. re-did the stock with Danish oil. re-blued it and polished the triger. it turned out nice and it shoots lights out.

I bought one a couple years ago from the original batch without the adjustable trigger that is pretty nice. I'm waffling between one of the current ones with adjustable trigger or one of the match rifles with the double set triggers and fancy stock. Does anyone here know if the match rifles are the same action as the other single shots?
